SOH-CM-2023
I have to say, this sim continues to evolve for the better. I truly was disappointed when it first released, but a year later, I am loving it. Of course, downloaded nearly a 1TB of terrain and aircraft.

It was a bit painful getting my MFG pedals to be recognized, but after a few tweaks, it works.

A question about AI traffic. Is it just slow to populate and are there other traffic programs out there? Also, same question regarding airfield traffic, there was none. Did I miss a setting somewhere?

Thanks and hoping all are having a great weekend.

I use the freeware FSLTL package and injector - it includes airline and general aviation traffic and is very easy to install and set up.

Thank you good sir. i will look into it and give it a try. Any chance it comes with military birds too? I found a bunch of military airfields at flightsim.to but haven't found any AI birds to add.

You're very welcome. The Military AI Works guys have had problems with the MSFS AI traffic coding, but AIG might have some military traffic up and running.

I was always hopeful MAIW would flourish and expand. I am glad to see them still around and I hope they indeed are able to overcome their challenges with MSFS 2024.

I took a peek at AIG. I honestly hadn't heard of them till now, so thank you again. They have some great ideas posted and will keep my eyes on them as well.

I will definitely take more time this weekend to continue tweaking my controllers and playing with the settings in hopes of flying a few of the included fleet, especially the C-17 and A400M. I'm curious to see if the flight model and cockpits have been enhanced since I last flew the C-17 on release? It was pretty nice, but I seem to recall not all of the functions worked on release so I shelved the C-17 and MSFS over a year ago to give it time to mature a bit. So, going in with both eyes open and positivity. Ultimate goal is busy airfields and alive environments.

GAMod says it has some military traffic. I haven't spent the time downloading/installing the FS2024 version, but it might be worth checking out.

If anyone tries it, report back!

I'll download and try it this weekend. Thanks for finding this.

Long time MAIW supporter and wish it was just as easy to convert into MSFS, but sadly it has not been. A few have made it work, but for the most part still a mess with the current AI engine in MSFS. I have AIG-AIM running in both P3Dv5 and MSFS20, outside of the system AI issues, it works if one is fine with AI doing weird things. Recently, some mil stuff has been added using converted good old HTAI C-130s and obviously any mil variant of a civ airliner (737) is a repaint away.

While I didn't get to update the AI traffic yet, I did take up the OV-10 for a nice long flight today around Washington state. I was so amazed at the level of detail that Asobo has put into this sim. I could actually fly VFR from KTCM (McChord), past Pacemaker DZ on Ft. Lewis and actually flew over a pretty good rendition of my house. I was amazed at the fidelity of the terrain database, roads and landmarks. I then found the MOUT site on Lewis, it was there. Overflew Gray AAF and it was pretty nicely laid out, though the hangars styles and some buildings were off. Reluctantly, no visible military AI traffic, but I didn't expect it yet, having not yet installed the prior mentioned AI programs. I was just in love with seeing my military stomping grounds and even my house.

However, virtual reality set in and crashed more than a few times because I haven't yet fully configured my Warthog HOTAS for trim and autopilot stuff. Anyway, I wanted to say thank you for the great support that I have found here through the years and the even greater shared pictures.

Of course, I do have a question about multi-engine throttle setups for more than 2 engines. How are you guys working this into a split throttle option like the Warthog? I don't know if the wife will allow me to purchase any more gear for a bit, though Christmas and birthday are right around the corner.....but still curious.

Hope all are having a great weekend. It's Korean Thanksgiving this weekend and raining, so had generous amounts of time to explore and tweak my MSFS2024.

I think I am going to also try the AIG-AIM first and see how well it populates. I started salivating over the Flightsim.to military bases. Hoping to find some native MSFS2024 liveries for the C-17.

Curious, remembering you mention being a former Blackhawk/Seahawk pilot, have you purchased the Miltech MH-60 yet? Just curious about your feedback on it, or anyone else for that matter. It's very nicely done model and has my curiosity piqued.

Disregard, found this thread on the MH-60. Keeper for sure. https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/threads/miltech-blackbird-mh60-released.165591/

Thank you @PhrogPhlyer! They truly have done a great job, especially the ability to download the entire package, if desired, so I did. It loads nicely and am really loving the progress. They have a great looking CH-47, but no CH-46, but it's part of the upgraded package and from Miltech. I think you'd approve.

Wife approves of your Chuseok print....lol. Thanks for sharing and have a great day.

It’s out, but the design is unusually restrictive. It disable all non-military AI.

Intentional by design or just the first draft?

Just reading up on MilMod24, agree not much one can do with it. The freeware Delta Sims C-135 and C-17 are pretty LOD heavy to use as AI models. I have been experimenting with PSXT, so far some of the already converted mil based airliners are showing, had a C-40 flying around last night real time. Not sure where PSXT is getting the tracking data, but many AMC flights show, just need the models now. M2020 will allow FSX models, I guess 2024 does not. Plan to run my thousands of AI through LegacyConverter.
