Fine Art Models.

Damn, I thought you were talking about "fine arts models", so had visions of hot women lying on velvet couches wearing nothing but a stragetically placed translucent veil :)

Great work!
Nice idea to cover only half of the craft to lets us admire the frame...or the war paint, depending on the point of view. I used to dream about doing the same from a rare Hasegawa Camel 1:8 scale (but it may require too much time and skill...) easier than building it from balsa and aluminium sheets anyway.

Not bat but you can't hang them to the ceiling of your living room with a single pin, so what's the interest?
Seriously, i agree, La Ferté Allais is a great place to see these birds ALIVE and not simply exposed in a museum.

I've tried building them out of Plastic, I lack the patience to use Balsa Wood and Tissue Paper. So I'll content myself with pictures. Have you ever noticed that models, are dust collectors hanging from your ceiling.

If you wish to construct models, to hang from your ceiling, be my guest.
I prefer pictures thank you.

For sometimes we are not able to attend a museam, and viewing becomes the only option. Some museams are actually working.

Hi Gimpy - The Morane Saulnier A1 is the one I have just started modelling in third scale. A RC Balsu USA kit, 103 inch wingspan, 30lb with a 50cc pterol engine. It will probably take me the best part of a year as it will be true scale down to the hinges on the cowling. I am modelling the vesion you showed which is at http://memorial.flight.free.fr/indexuk.html

a much underated aircraft!

S! Hey Conrad - build extra rudders! You'll be on your back a few times with that airplane- its c.g. is high like the DrI. I made a piano hinge with a removable hingepin so it was very quick and easy to replace the 'used' rudder in event of noseover. I am ARUP on RCUniverse dot com. Look at my gallery. I am currently scratch building (drew own plans- make own parts) a 1/4 DH-5. S!
