Fire Power P-51D Lighting

These were the lighting effects for the avhist P-51D. I slightly modified these to fit the FP P-51D.

it's now time to play our favorite game! "what's wrong with this picture" lol. contestants have 1 miniute to name everything they see wrong with the lighting. ready go!____beep! times up

#1 the ac lights don't belong in the leading edge of the wing. it has 1 light mounted under the left wing root.you can see the light hanging under the wing.
#2the wing tip lights are reversed. deleate the (-) from in front of the nav_green" Posx="-5.63" and place it in the nav_red" Posx="-5.63.that will switch the positions.
#3 the white tail light is wrong. there is a green light on the trailing edge of the rudder set low.
#4 the blue nav light is wrong. there is 1 light mounted on both sides of the radiator air intake tunnel.what colors they are, i don't know. haven't been able to find a pic with the exact colors. if anybody does know please let me know.
#5 no exhaust flames.
in the xdp there is no gauge illumination.
there is also a conflict number in the xdp. the MinVel. is set at [0.0001] this setting causes the light flicker in the quick combat a/c selection screen. this number should be set no lower than[0.001] to prevent it.
to move the lights, X moves the location in and out horizontal on the wing.left wing is (-)neg. right wing is positive(no sign).
Y moves the location verticial,up and down on the wing.up is positive(no sign)down is (-)neg.
Z moves the location front to back horizontialy positive(no sign) moves it foward,(-)neg moves it twords the tail.
modelers start at different (0) zero points on all three locations so you'll have to experiment with the, pos and neg.

Slip Stream I simply took what was added to the P-51 in both avhist and ETO planes. All I did was adjust the X,Y,Z positions to accomodate the different size airframe. Also as the title said "Lighting" I did not include engine start effects but I can if you would like.
 
Ok Slip Stream you called me out! So here are a few adjustments eventhough I am not the one who originally did P-51 effects. There is not an underwing landing light on the stock model so I'm sure thats why they put landing lights on the leading edge of the wings. I moved the blue formation light back to the lower rudder trailing edge. I also switched the red and green nav lights to the appropriate side. That was all my mistake. I adjusted the min vel for all the lights and did not notice flickering. I don't know which guage lights you are refering to but the panel light illuminates all the guages. I put the red, green, and yellow formation lights under the left wing tip. The stock P-51 had these painted into the skin so I figure it must be correct. I did not replace the blue formation light that I moved to the tail because I am not sure of the location you spoke of (air intake tunnel). I assume you meant the wind scoop on the under belly. If so where in relation to the scoop? Also I included the six stock gunstations below the lighting/engine start effects. For some reason the FP P-51 only list 4 guns on the xpd. Ok Slip Stream let me know if you see any other glitches I missed.

Here is a P-51D with a single underbelly red formation/nav light. I don't know if thats original equipment or not. You can also see formations lights under the left wingtip but these are not illuminated.

Here is the position for a formation light under the scoop as in the photo.

Hey, looks pretty sweet anyways. Just remember the phrase, "red, right, returning" for nav lights. Works for both Aircraft and Boats.
