In case anyone didn't see the other post, one way to fix the slow package activation is to sync your PC clock. Type Date into the windows search box then select date & time and hit the sync button.

Once done what was a 25 minute wait is now a few minutes.

I also noticed some recommendations that, if you installed in the early days of the week that MSFS 2024 was released, and you haven't done so yet, you may benefit in uninstalling and reinstalling the sim, which may result in providing you faster load times, slightly better performance, and less CTDs. Having installed the sim on the first day of release, I figured I'd give it a go - it's hard to say, but I think I noticed a slight improvement in load time and performance.

It's covered starting at the 19:40 mark in this video:

I have had to reinstall after each update, and those went very fast. Mine loads to ready to fly in just over a minute, now.

Wow! That's quite a improvement. Will have to try this. NC
YMMV, but it made a huge difference in mine. Maybe there was someting in the original release that was a problem. After the first update, which are all automatic, you have no control of them as they load during initial startup. Something in my setup doesn't like the update sytem, as the sim will not startup after the update, it throws an error and closes. The M$ forums had many reports of same thing, with different fixes that worked for some. The most drastic was uninstall using the Windows uninstaller, then restarting. Worked for mine. After the second update, it did crashed on the update restart, same way. I mmediately uninstalled and restarted computer. Then restarted the sim, which immediately does the download of the already updated program. Download takes maybe 5-10 minutes, including starting up. From then on, 1-2 minutes from hitting play in the XBox app, to "Start" button, which usually comes on as the female pilot of the spray version of the R-22 chopper. Immediately the front screen and globe come up. After setting up my freeflight, it takes approx 30sec to maybe 1 minute to be at the airport in front of my plane. Shift+C puts me in the cockpit. Same Shift+C to exit the cockpit. Just FYI, I have a 1GB internet.
