Flight Replicas L-4 Released!

Whoops I posted one of my own while you were lol. Sorry about that.

This really is a stunning looking bird. I didn't have a lot of time to fly it since I was in a rush to get the website ready, and I have been swamped with my last week of school. Based on what I have scene this bird is going to occupy a lot of relaxation time once I graduate. Nothing like slow and low.

Hey Panther where is your Avatar from? Looks kinda like a movie, and one I don't recognize at that.

I've been testing it for over an hour Mike, need to catch up with household chores. :icon_lol:

A beautiful piece of work. So good i am using it as reference on my BRONCO 1/35 scale plastic kit of the L-4.

If I have one minor complaint, we need the guru of the model propwash, Banana Bob Rivera, to see what he can do for the moving prop. Otherwise, this model is spot on. She flies like all Cubs I have flown, never been in an L-4. Landing is easy and if you don't watch out, you'll raise the tail taxing if your speed gets above 25 kts. :costumes:

Your recommendations would be apprechiated as to how good this product is??:kilroy:

you wont see much bumps on this paticular, all the ones i've seen have been pretty smooth, as for shadows i think hubs shots in the other thread show em off pretty well :)

It's got all the bumps the real one has! :) And all those wing ribs are bump maps, btw.

Is this a FSX model? The textures seem to act like it calling for a bmp, they take a bit to load on mine. Frames are really low. I like the plane though.

It's an FSX SP2/Acceleration model. All textures are dds.

The lowest-performance computer this product was extensively tested on was a P35, E6600, ATI HD3850, and had good fps. I did run it for a short time on an ancient P4, ATI X800, Windows XP machine, and with moderate-to-light sliders in FSX/SP2 it ran at some 22 FPS.

Mike, I'm eagerly awaiting to get home so I can get this. I think I could make a really swell video with this plane being part of it. I got some ideas about a WWII video I have been tossing around in my head for ages.

Keep up the good work. I always try to buy whatever you guys at Flight Replicas produce...

Now if you can just get my 109G crafted in the FSX SDK, I would be indebted.

Also looking forward to the 262 expansion!

:mixedsmi:

Just got it and made the first meters on a taxiway - did the original also jump like a rodeo horse already at very low speed.
Its a real beaut -but the behaviour on the ground is slightly confusing me.
