Flight Sim screenshot on Plane A Day.com?

I was just catching up on the aircraft images on the PlaneADay.com site. In the June Archives, the pic for June 18 looks like a Flight Sim screenshot of the old Flight Sim Berlin (I think that's right) Lockheed L-10A Electra. Take a look at the image and pay attention to the clarity of the panel lines, the way the shore line on the islands below look. Also, check out the nav lights....they have those noticable light rings around them...the fuzzy round part of the stock FS nav lights. To me, this looks like a screen shot taken in FS9 and not an actual aircraft picture. Not a big deal if it is, but just something I noticed.

I saw that the day it ran on there and showed it to Mrs Willy. Looks like a FS9 screenshot that's been sepia toned to me.

Yeah it's a Flight sim screenshot.

That's Mount Maunganui ( Tauranga NZ ) in the backgound.

This is the detail ....

Lockheed Electra L10a : ZK-AFD
Union Airways Lockheed L10 Electra ZK-AFD departing Tauranga en-route to the South. Another Electra ZK-AGJ "Kahu" would later land in the harbour while on approach to the airport (everyone was able to wade safely ashore)

"The Electra is one of the classic airliner designs of the '30's... The aircraft reached New Zealand in 1937 when the first two examples were imported by Union airways... In the immediate pre-war and WWII period the fast 10 seat aircraft flew the main trunk routes for Union Airways... Eight aircraft eventually operated in New Zealand - seven for Union Airways/NAC and one for Trans Island Airways."

I'm not faulting the PlaneADay guy for including an FS screen shot on his site.....that screen shot, on first glance, looked real enough....but once I leaned in to really check out the Electra (which happens to be my most favoritest plane of all time), I noticed the FS feel to the image. It is a really nice image, and does a wonderful job of showing the classic beauty of the Electra.

Hi Terry,

"An accident!"... whoops!!! Thanks for the heads up. Normally, I would remove, but hey, I still like the photo :)
