• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

FlightSim Blocked By Firefox

FSX68

Banned
I know this has been discussed in the other blogs here but from what I have gleaned from other blogs on this issue some have said some of the advertisers on firefox have some kind of
cooties and that is why firefox is blocking access. I use palemoon (a clone of firefox) as backup and can call flightsim up with no issues.

I did a virus scan and came up clean. Now the wierd thing is that on occasion, firefox will pull up flightsim with no issues.

I cleared out my temporary files for Firefox and that seemed to get me back into their site. Was able to go to the files section and forums without any hassles. Nevermind, problem came back.

Palemoon Browser

I can use pale moon (it's just like using Firefox - it imports the bookmarks and addons, and I can go to flightsim every time. I only use pale moon for flightsim if firefox insists on warning me.

ITS Malwarebytes

For all of you malwarebytes users there is a malicious website block you can check and if you do you will be blocked from Flightsim.com
I unchecked the box and went right to the website, recheck the block and I get blocked.

So that may be what is doing that.

Its a thought anyway.

I have been blocked three times today. I think the problem is with FireFox. Their browser is really buugy. Some videos will not play on youtube and complete pages will be blank, but everything works fine in I.E.

Still no joy on FlightSim. Cleared my cache, browsing history, and temp files for Firefox but I'm still getting the Attack Site warning. Guess I'll just have to wait and watch it sort itself out...

Status Update
Google has again marked us as safe. We have added additional security
tools and checks to prevent further occurrences. Please return your security
settings to whatever (or better than) they were previous to this Christmas surprise.

During this event there was never a virus or malware on any of our servers.

The problem was that an ad redirect was changed by someone using a security
hole in the advertising software. It only affected some data on the ad server.
No personal data on any of our servers was compromised.

I personally apologize for any inconveniences that you may have suffered during
this event. We do appreciate your support and we take every precaution to protect
our systems. We know that many of you archive your files in our library and
we take that responsibility very seriously.

However, Mozilla has confirmed a bug in Firefox that essentially means a
website that was once marked bad by Google but is now ok, will still receive
warnings in Firefox
. There is a notice from Firefox that you can read here:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=820283

There are directions for how to remove a safe site.

Thank you for your patience!
Rick
