This weekend the Aviodrome in Lelystad hosts the annual FS Weekend, the place for the flightsim enthousiast to see the latest developments, perhaps buy new stuff and for clubs to show their hobby.

Quite a busy day today, long rows at the ticket boots and full parking lots as usual.

Some of the stands around the museum's 'Connie':

And the DC-3:

The virtual Dutch airforce performing intercepts on a Russian Bear:

Francois showing off his D-Day project:

A lot of different cockpits on display this year, like this rather big full-motion one:

Smaller and dual-seat:

Or this home-built full-motion sim; note all the wires and cables, but it worked as well as the two professional ones above:

Stationary cockpits were on display (And on sale) as well, like this very nice twin set-up:

Nice curved screen which I would like to have for a race sim:

Ready-made F-16 pit, delivered to your door:

Thanks for the pictures Ferry. It's a pity I couldn't make it. When I look at the crowd it is still a very popular weekend to visit the Aviodrome.

Have you seen anything new or interesting (or perhaps both :icon_lol:)

Cheers,
Huub

The new and interesting stuff is in the photos above Huub; sadly it's also the expensive stuff.. :kilroy:

The rest of the show are the usual VATSIM, HCC VA's and other clubs doing their own thing like they do every year. There was a lack of retailers though, a number that has definitely decreased over the last few years. No Flight1 or Just Flight stands anymore, only Aerosoft and Simware to buy add-ons from.

I guess I lead a sheltered life. I had no idea that there were so many prefab'd cockpits for sale. I'd always thought most home cockpits were homebuilt. How much would something like that twin cockpit with complete functional displays and gauges cost? Out of my price range I'd expect, but I'm putting together my Christmas list.

Great pictures as usual Ferry, and thanks for the mention :) I'm off to Italy now on some business..... will post more news on Normandy in a week or 3 ....
