• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Flightstick recomendations .

After years of use my x52 is now trash . Thought about another one but the reviews are not to good . So if anyone has a recommendation for a flightstick please let me know .I have not really come across a price point yet, but for grins and giggle I would say 200 give or take , its not in stone .

Replaced my X52 with one a couple of year back and never regretted it for a second.

Well good luck finding one for give and take 200 bucks (does 350 count as give and take?)

I just purchased the X-55. I hear mixed things about it, but I also do hear mixed reviews about the Thrustmaster Warthog.
If you want something which comes close to a decent HOTAS which is not a Warthog than the X-55 is IMHO your choice. And it's within your desired price range. See here some (YT) comparisons: https://www.google.nl/?gws_rd=ssl#q=x-55+rhino+vs+warthog.

Gotta cast my vote for the Warthog HOTAS system.

IMHO, the cost benefit sealed it for me. It's a tough piece of equipment meant to last for years, and they support the product. I had bought another, high end system two years ago and found that the most current driver update was four years old. The throttle from that system began to fail within a year and is now a paper weight, along with some fried Harley barrels I have laying around.

I bought the TM HOTAS about a month ago...and no buyers remorse.

Also, either the throttle or stick would make a dandy household defense device. :tommygun2:
 
I also am a very satisfied Warthog user. It is tough, flexible and easy to program, and there is an extension set on the market to make the stick longer, for better simulation of a control stick.
 
+1 for the Warthog. Absolutely feels like the real deal. And heavy as h€ll.
Sensible people should get some original Nomex flight gloves to go with it - metal is cold.
I don't mind though - but the Nomex gloves sure look cool.

There are some interesting aftermarket parts for the Warthog, by the way, like stick extensions etc, if you want to mount the stick to the seat or even on the floor.

X-65F ....will never wear out. Stick does NOT move.....ergo can never wear out....;)
 
I have both a Thrustmaster Warthog and a Saitek X-55, and of the two I like the X-55 the best. I know most people think the Warthog is great but I never really liked it, it just never felt realistic & enjoyable to use to me. Yes, the build quality is superb and it feels like it was made to last forever but I just never "gelled" with it. I'm told that if you buy the extension piece that's available it makes a world of difference, but unfortunately the Warthog now resides in my loft.

Never had any problems with the X-55, but I was a little concerned before buying it after all the negative reviews, but I like it. No way near as heavy duty as the Warthog.
