It's finally out, pretty nice BUT bear in mind it is a beta and there are plenty of bugs. Word of warning about the handling, the lighter the hand on stick, the better, very light inputs then let the jet stabilize. Also, the pitch and roll limiters do not appear to be coded or have limited function. In the future, this model is going to shine if the coding work continues to move forward.

The limiters are there to some degree! I was going to take an obnoxious picture of an upside A380 and make a joke about Vatsim controllers taking life too seriously, but I couldn't roll past about 75 degrees.

Needs a few set up actions before it is stable - ie, Throttle detents [In EFB] and control sensitivity. Discussed in the FBW Discord.
Flies really well for an Alpha version.

Sorry folks, I wrote it is a Beta when YES, it is an Alpha. Still quite nice and enjoy flying it. That being noted, the Throttle Range is set up by default with the lowest 1/8th or so of movement being between flight idle and full reverse. In the air the reversers will not deploy and only until you touch down. My trick for approach and landing is to leave the Auto-Throttle on with the final approach speed set and the throttle position will be in the SPEED detent with a Green Speed indicator on the PFD. As you're on final and cross the threshold to land, pull the throttles to the physical idle position on your controllers and the Reversers will automatically kick in Weight On Wheels (Mains) and the Spoilers will kick in. That being noted, DO NOT activate your normal Reverse Thrust Button or you'll be in for a while Bounce-Off Touch & Go! lol. That action will take the thrust to TO/GA.

"That action will take the thrust to TO/GA." -- Ah!, that explains it.
Thank you

I installed it, spawned on runway for.first flight, released brakes, and aircraft would only go right. Uninstalled aircraft, back to flying USN jets.

Yes it's quite a complex aircraft. You need to go through the configuration of your throttles using the tablet in the cockpit, if I understood properly.

I'll probably install it at some point, just for the pleasure of having a well-made A-380 in the hangar and practise my landings with the Emirates one in my local airport LFMN (the Emirates A-380 connects Nice to Dubai in the high season, then they switch back to the Boeing 777 during the low season).

Big thing to remember with the Airbus, is it has a "power by wire" throttle system that uses different thrust lever detents for different power settings. Full Reverse, Idle Reverse, Idle, Climb, FLX/MCT, and TOGA. The thrust levers do not move automatically, and are moved to the desired position by the pilot. I tried the FlyByWire A3NX using the Trustmaster TCA Airbus Quadrant and found it difficult to "map" the thrust levers to the desired position within the sim. If one wants to spend the time necessary to map the Thrustmaster system, you'd probably have a good experience with the A380. IMO, all other generic throttle quadrants I've seen would be extremely difficult to accurately map due to the fact that if you're physical throttle lever was even slightly out of position (appropriate detent), you wouldn't have an accurate setting in the sim. Since I typically don't fly airliners in MSFS, I ended up returning the Thrustmaster system and purchased the Turtle Beach Velocity One Flightdeck set instead. While I still have some issues with the Turtle Beach setup, it's a better all around setup for me.
PS: I haven't tried the FBW A380 yet.

I'm certain I could figure things out but I enjoy flying military jets too.much to bother! Now if and when a DC-9 is released, then THAT will get my attention!. NC

I played around with it long enough to be super-impressed. And to realize I want to let it bake a bit longer before I have a full slice of it. It’s not a casual flier, and if i have to practically learn to fly a real A380 to have fun with it, then I want more of it to be finished first.

But damn, so cool that such a huge team of enthusiasts have accomplished this!

He is a beast of aircraft. I have to turn off the virtual passenger cabin to get better FPS. (I'm on an I-9 11900K, 64GB RAM, 3090 24GB VRAM). This will cause the interior to become hollow when viewing through the windows from the outside!

The screenshots below are flight from Dubai to Manchester, England (I forgot to switch the livery to Emirates). I also forgot to turn off that camera halo effect (some folks like it)

A splendid Alpha that will only get more impressive. Well done FBW! Enjoying her and looking forward to what’s to come. Inertia, momentum and the MCDU are brilliant.
