Fly Tampa Boston v3 Released

That's some nice work. I wish everything in the flight simulator had the looks and realism like that. I know, there's always FSX. But even FSX doesn't have the hardware to support it.

From the readme:
At the time of writing there is no hardware that can run FSX with maximum graphical settings; at least not near a city area or busy international airport. Boston is both.
For optimum performance I find the following three settings to be the most crucial.
Light Bloom – Off
Ground Scenery Shadows – Off
Water Effects – Low 2.x or Mid 2.x

FS9 is the place to use this scenery.
This is from the horse's mouth, so go blow all you FSX'ers who claim your sim is fine with max settings. ;)
Boston Logan is where the men are sorted from the boys ;);)

No shimmering here - sounds like a mips issue, try one or two lower on the slider.
 
Thanks for the heads up on the mips, Wing....i must have accidentally changed it at some point and it was too high...problem solved! This scenery is un freakin' believable!

I don't know what is the matter with George. He put in the Tobin Bridge and left out the new Zakim Bridge.
There was a time when I flew out of Logan almost on a daily basis.
Here's a picture of the Zakim Bridge and Logan can be seen in the distance.
 
People are grizzing about all sorts of things around Boston, which are not in the scenery.
What you see is stock Microsoft, outside the airport proper.
This is an addon scenery of KBOS itself.
Where do you stop? :kilroy:
 
George put the Zakim Bridge in on version 2 of KBOS. Plus I can tell you that is not the default Boston scenery. Far from it. Microsoft only put in about one-fifth the buildings. George worked hard on it.
 
Well there you go - I've had v2 so long I thought it was all stock ;)
Come to think of it, I've never been to Boston in the sim without George's scenery.
I thought it was just the airport though.

So...I also don't know what's the matter with George! :d - probably very little, if you think about it.
But you could go to the FlyTampa forums and demand the bridge - if I recall there are promises to add the fort too, at some stage.
EDIT: Whoops! George has already done it.
