Here are a series of screenshots flying from my local airport, KSGS Fleming Field, out sight-seeing over my house, some of my friend's and family's houses, a few of the places I've worked, a couple of the parks I enjoy, and then a couple circuits of KSTP Downtown St. Paul Airport and back to KSGS again. Both airports are of course completely default and not among the hand-crafted type. I apologize for the rather boring sky in these screenshots, but it was using live weather and it is exactly the same as I see out my window right now.

During WWII, KSGS served as "B Base" for NAS Minneapolis, providing primary training for Naval Aviators, like George Bush Sr., in open-cockpit Naval Aircraft Factory N3N's. KSTP served as a major B-24 modification center during WWII, run by Northwest Airlines, and was one of the earliest airports in Minnesota to have both air mail and airline routes in/out of, dating back to the 1920's.

St. Paul/Minneapolis is a great area for train spotting.





 
This area gets highly congested with traffic most morning and afternoon rush hours. The AI car traffic in the sim actually increases during times of rush hour (like 5pm) than in the middle of the day or night.





Wipaire's Wipliner Seaplane Base, perfect for the Icon and the rugged back country aircraft like the XCub.

A view of the belly of the Cirrus. The detail in the models and textures in this sim is so completely different than any previous MSFS.



Note this particular building is raised up on cinder blocks, which is the reason you can see underneath it.

 
Here's a fun one flying around my home area: I found my red Fiat 124 parked in the parking lot of the local Safeway! (I mean, that could be someone else's red convertible, but that's where I'd park, and it's a small town and I haven't seen a similar car around. ;) )

I tried finding my car where I work, but the aerials must have been taken on the weekend as the parking lot is completely empty (or it was during a time when there was no summer school perhaps). The St. Paul/Minneapolis photogrammetry region was made from aerials taken in 2014, so there are areas of my neighborhood which were just beginning to be developed that are now packed full of houses since then. For that reason too, the NFL Vikings stadium is just a construction site right now in the sim, despite having been completed in 2016.
 
Quick question John: Given your preference for running at 4K I assume the screenshots are at that resolution?

Yes, all of the screenshots I've been posting are saved in their original 4K resolution (3840 × 2160), which can be viewed if you click on the image and follow the link to Flickr where you can then select to view the images in full resolution. I figured they'd be too big posted like that in the forums.
