For those who eschew Facebook ( and who can blame you ), here are the latest pictures of the Butcher Bird. It seems they are close to releasing her.

WIP pictures of their B-17G are coming soon. I'll post those too.

....Not! ( looks amazing but no doubt flies (i.e.takes off, lands..) as difficult as their amazing looking Bf 109G.. Instead i'll purchase *2* B-17's )

Thanks Paul ! Don't hesitate with those B-17 Wips, Ok !? :encouragement:

With that wide-set undercarriage, maybe a tad easier to land than the 109 ? We shall see. I'll be getting the 190 anyway; Flying Iron is one of those developers I want to support no matter what they release.

Yes, looking forward to seeing more of the B-17 too. Going by their exacting standards, it'll be a sight to behold. (y)

That looks amazing! I wonder what ever happened to the Classic Hangar Fw-190D that was teased years ago...

I loved their Fw-190 collection for FSX. It is still one of the best payware study of the Fw-190 series that I have seen, for a civil sim.

I'm privately still hoping that Matthias will bring his Dora and Ta over to MSFS. The most beautiful iterations of the 190 for sure.

Where can we get a Luftwaffe pilot avatar? A must have here.
FlyingIron have mentioned within the past two weeks that they have been working on a German pilot figure for both the Fw 190 and Bf 109, but felt that it likely would not be included at the time of the Fw 190 release and will be included in an update shortly there-after. This same German pilot model is also supposed to be included in an update for the FlyingIron Bf-109. Meanwhile, with the FI Bf-109, I've been using the vintage-attired pilot avatar from the Got Friends: Valor addon, which I think does a pretty good job of looking the part.

I have been using the Got Friends pilot aswell but a dedicated german pilot would be most welcome.

Here are a few new screenshots from FlyingIron, showing a few more paint schemes and the dedicated WWII-period German pilot model now incorporated as well. For those waiting as anxiously as I am for its release, it was mentioned by FlyingIron just over a couple weeks ago on their Discord that in the eleventh hour they received all-new professionally-recorded sounds, so they have been working on an all-new sound set, said to be as good or even better than their '109 soundset - which is one of the most accurate and highest-quality piston-powered warbird sound sets I've ever heard.

I don't expect the sounds to be recorded from a BMW 801 engine, though it would really be something if they were - there are only two running examples on the planet, and neither of which are easily accessible. One is fitted to the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum's original Fw 190A-5 (which hasn't flown since 2019, but did undergo some recent ground-runs), and the other is fitted to the Collings Foundation's original Fw 190F-8, which has been fully restored in Arizona though has yet to fly (its BMW 801 engine was pulled back off the aircraft earlier this year, to fix an issue that cropped up and may still be at the engine shop). There are nine other full-size Fw 190s flying in the world, but are all Flug Werk replicas (no matter whether or not they claim to be the real deal), and none of them are powered by BMW 801 engines - most are powered by the Russian-built ASh-82 engine (for which the replicas were designed for), while two have been fitted with a P&W R-2800 engine.

Glad they're including captured schemes, so I don't have to wait for them to hit Flightsim.to. :)

I'm pretty sure I have video somewhere of the FHCAM FW-190 starting its engine. I gotta organize my videos sometime....
