Flying Iron year end report

A lot to take in there. Of course the thing that jumps out to me is the screenshot of the bent props on the Spitfire - that generation Spitfire, it would be more accurate to be splintered wood. That Bf 109G-6 is looking sweet!

Not that excited about the German fighters... Having had family members dealing with them on the ground and in the air, quick test flights in IL-2 satisfies any curiosity there. Sad that the P-47's not on the 2023 list, especially since DC Designs tabled their jug.

But the exciting note on the report for me was the mention that 2023 they'd start working on a four-engine MSFS plane. Hoping it's a B-17. Guessing we won't see it till 2024, though.

No, I'm not terribly interested in the two German fighters either, but I hope both aircraft do very well for them. I like Flying Iron enormously; the standard of their work, and the unfailing commitment to improve and upgrade their aircraft after release. I've got the wonderful Hellcat and P-38, and will no doubt get the Spitfire before too long. The prospect of a four-engined heavy from them is intriguing - my head is already full of what it might be.

I'm neither here or there on the german stuff, I fly them in DCS and thats about the enjoyment I get out of them, since they typically outnumber allied players 2:1 on IL-2GB.

That said, whoever makes a solid B-17 for MSFS first would be like the first guy selling turkey legs at the Ren Faire.

I love german fighters. Bring them on.:jump:

Yes, in general the Luftwaffe aircraft (and other Axis aircraft) have always been neglected in the Microsoft flightsimulators. I would love to see the Bf109/Me109 but also the Fw190, Me110 and some medium bombers like the Ju88, Do217 and He177. Only Classics Hangar had the full range of FW190's and the Fw190D. A German company, maybe not a surprise..
