WH558 was built in 1952 and delivered to Royal Australian Navy at Bankstown in September of that year. After 10 years of service use, she was modified as target tug and placed on the civil register as VH-BOU. By 1972, the aircraft was eventually dismantled and shipped to a new owner in Santa Roso, California registered N588.
