Flysimware Grumman G44 Widgeon

Thanks Jan Kees !

Could you snap a few VC shots please ? Nothing to see on their website..... ?

30 bucks is a bit of a steep price for a model without a custom soundsuite...

If it comes with a white RAF Gosling livery i might've to buy it for old times Airfix 1:72 model's sake.. (in plastic bag) Talking about 1960... ;-)

here's the VC:

Let's say it's not the sharpest pencil in the box, and they advertise it as a beta, so strangely enough, the altimeter seems to be inop. Odd, in an aircraft. Still, I think it is a fun aircraft, somehow I like things like this a lot more than any 172 or 747, however nicely they might be modelled.
As for that white Gosling paintjob, that would be easy to do, I found my old FSX paints work well with a few adaptations.

...and also no altimeter? And I thought the Bell 47 chopper was expensive!!

I wonder what's better in this Widgeon than our beloved freeware Grumman Goose.

it might be a little overpriced - Flysimware make nice products but MSFS needs a cut above. Even in these screenshots there are some vertices visible around the nose of the airplane etc..
I was hoping this one would get a bit more finessing before they brought it over - but this looks like a straight transfer of their existing model..Which I loved in FSX, but now that we've seen what is possible in the new sim...
I might still buy it on sale - but would have gladly paid a bit more if they had really smoothed it out for MSFS

Not even close. The freeware Goose is superb. And.... there is now a Cessna 172 amphib (on flightsim.to), that leverages the MS2020 model. All free.

I received a message that an update, with altimeter. Is on its way

Thanks for the VC shots, Jan Kees, and nice to know the altimeter will work eventually.

I love this type of aircraft but if it's really a straight port-over i'll pass.

Devs should be made aware we don't go for this.. :173go1:

Does the Widgeon leave a wake on water, now that SU5 introduced wakes?

(I'm asking because AFAIK the Goose doesn't...)
