To get the message about the model at one location I decided to start a separate thread.

The model is the Aerocrate model by Gary Aumaugher, but completely reworked by Martin Klein. The model is very nice and in my enthusiasm I did 18 liveries (!) for this model. And yes its our intention to release this model.

As it is originall a CFS2 model with CFS2 fight dynamics, it is nose heavy. This can easily be trimmed, which meave you a nice flyable model. As my enthusiasm was still not died out, I also did an attempt to make a "hot" flightmodel, which resulted in something which indeed "climbs like a monkey and turn like a devil" as von Richthofen once said. However this plane is very hard to land, as it just keeps flying. ( a bit ike a Westland Lysander).

The only way to reduce speed to allow a normal landing is to cut off the engine. Which is case of a rotary engine is actually quite authentic.

In case of the Fokker Dr.I it is most probably impossible create a flightmodel for FS9 which is regarded realistic by everybody. As you can see in the video from Mikael Carlson's demonstration, which I posted in the screenshot thead, the aircraft is airborne within 20 metres and can make a incredible tight 180 degrees turn at take off speed. To be honest, even when I could create a flight model which could do this, people would consider it unrealistic, even after seeing the proof in the earlier mentioned video.

So we intend to release the model with the CFS2 flight model and challenge everybody who think he can make something better to do this.

But first I will make a few additional attempt.

Cheers,
Huub

Martin has checked the paintwork and found some minor errors so will correct those in the coming days.

Here the link to the video again

And the take off is still at 3:35

Good morning Huub,

your paints are realy state of art. What I apreciate most that the aircraft look "living",
used and not factory new. Wonder how you do it.
Please please publish them.
For personal reasons I am very hot to Willi Gabriel s plane

Best regards

Michael.

I have seen Michael Carjson at different airshows with different aircraft he did rebuild.
He is realy the champion of WWI aircraft, not only as a outstanding pilot but also as an
expert for bringing back to life these aircraft from another time.

Best regards

Michael
