I can remember a few nights in my younger days where if I saw that for breakfast the next morning.....it would be all over.

Other than that, what a great way to start a morning with kids. Especially little kids.

They are for eating Moe.... So kids will love to eat breakfast or lunch or dinner....

Make food look good to eat for them... Like art.... :jump:

Man, things sure have changed from when I was a kid and Mom said I either ate what was in front of me or I went without. :engel016:

LOL, and to me, you're still a kid! Think about what my generation had to eat for breakfast! And now we'll let HellDiver join in and give us the culinary delights of his generation!

In actuality, we ate real big breakfasts, eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, grits ior hash-browns, toast or biscuits. Every day but one and that was reserved for hot cakes or waffles. Breakfast has always been the steadfast big meal for my family, it is the meal that everyone should start out with, because you need it for energy. People eat too heavy a meal for supper, you do not generally work it off.

Mmmm, but I am thinking of waffles this morning, kids are out of school and I doubt the wife will work due to the weather conditions. Will have to be a brunch breakfast, however. the wife and eldest will sleep in until around 10:00. I have some real good link sausage too.

They shall not be colored, however C9G. :bump:

Same for me...I ate what was offered or went hungry...I tried a few times to revolt..I went hungry..I learned fast too..i like to eat...LOL :bump:

My father, (who is older than you Caz, and not quite as old as Helldiver,) use to take pleasure in telling us kids, (me and my brothers,) what he use to have to eat as a kid, living as how he was in the near post depression era ... (he was born in the early 30s,)

He use to talk about salt and pepper sandwiches, or coffee sandwiches, or just plain ketchup sandwiches.

He's told a story about how he use to be ashamed to have to eat lunch with the other kids of his time, in school, because his sandwiches were always made with home made biscuits, while some of the more "well to do" kids got to eat "real sliced bread" sandwiches ...

There is no doubt that things change between generations.

I dont eat breakfast
but i do love to cook waffles for my Grand baby
she loves them, not sure about colored ones :isadizzy:
grew up on salad cream sandwiches
and Jam sandwiches

that's funny. i got into a battle of wills with my dad over 3 lima beans once. we both lost. :icon_lol:
i had eaten most of my lima beans but was down to 3 i didn't want.
he said "you'll eat everything on yer plate" that was at 5:45 pm
at 11:00 pm, still sitting at the table staring at 3 lima beans, he said
"you'll have them for breakfast, go to bed"
at 6:45 am i sat down to breakfast looking at 3 lima beans
at 7:00 am my dad left for work telling me
"you'll have them for dinner if you don't eat them now"
about 7:30 am, my mother threw them in the trash telling me
"the two of you are just ridiculous, go to school"
from then on, she gave me less lima beans, and i learned to swallow them whole. :icon_lol:
