For help: OFF phase screensaver France 3 = Windows XP blocked!

Hello,

I wanted to try the screensaver “OFF phase 3 – France”, but the reward was not there: my PC (Windows XP) is blocked.
The screensaver
however appears on the witness of the "screen saver" of the "property of the display”.
The PC crashes under the following conditions:
- Application preview
- After the scheduled time

- At the start of the desktop shortcut
Can you help me solve this anomaly? :help:

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Sincerely

Hi there,
It may be you have a corrupted download as the screen savers are quite large in size.

Delete the screensavers using the uninstall or through control panel/add remove programs function.

Reboot your PC and make sure your PC is OK.

Then download, unzip and install the screensaver from the WinZIP file version, instead of the WinRAR file. The WinZIP file can be downloaded from this page:

http://www.sandbaggereaw.com/off.html

All of the screensavers have been tested and are not corrupted, so I think you may have a corrupted file during the download process.

In my case, that worked - the unzipped file of the German screensaver is now running without problem. Thanks again, Sandbagger!

Hello,
Thank you for the quick response, but even with the load directed to the new address, the anomaly is still present!
The PC is clean and I would like to understand and correct this anomaly.
Thank you in advance for your help :help:

Did you remove the screensaver and then check that your PC was OK before trying an install again?

There are 2 things you could try:

Check for updated drivers for your video card. Some screensavers using openGL can cause PC lockups if the video card drivers out of date.

Do you have your PC set up for power saving (e.g. shuts down after 5 minutes of not being used - sleep). If you do, check that the power off time is not the same as your screensaver starting time. If they are set to the same time (e.g. 5 minutes) the two can conflict with each other and can cause a PC lockup.

This is the first snag of this type we've had for the screensavers. If your PC runs OK without the screensaver, then it could still be a setting or driver related problem on the PC.

Good evening,

- Yes I installed properly the first screensaver before installing the second.
- The video driver is current: ATI Radeon X850 series v 8.12
- The screensever Windows works properly before and after these tests
- The period of implementation of the screensaver is 15 minutes and the extinction of the monitor is set at 45 minutes
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely
