For the curious (Widgeon closeup)

Not sure what the first two ribbons are, but the 3rd is the National Defense medal. The lower three are for service in Vietnam. Definitely not Navy

1st: Either Navy Expeditionary or the Air Medal, can't tell the color to well in pic.
2nd: Good Conduct Medal
3rd: National Defence Service Medal
4th: Vietnam Service Medal
5th: Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, I think.
6th: Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal

Kingleo is corect on all of 'em with confirmation that the top left (highest in order of precedence) is the Air Medal. The wings are US Army aviator's wings.

Thanks, couldn't really tell if the first one had a blue or purple background. And I wasn't entierly sure on the Gallantry Cross either, always saw it with a different device attached.

Yes, commonly (well, not so commonly any more) it is seen with the palm leaf device. Stars were also awarded in bronze, silver and gold, gold being the highest level of the award.

The unit award version of the RVN Gallantry Cross has the palm leaf and the gold frame. It's a ribbon only, no medal. The GC with Silver Star on the Widgeon is a personal award so the plane's owner has the nifty medal in his "I Love Me" collection. :d
