Soon, I will be flying the big commercial jets....and crashing them into things...but not like the terrorist nut jobs....not on purpose...just because you really shouldn't try doing hammerhead stalls in a 767.

So I am not the only one doing silly things like that. I was always afraid to owe up to that. Now I can celebrate by doing a Immelman in a Boeing 777.:friday:

When I first loaded FS 9, my son and I took turns doing barrel rolls down the grand canyon in the stock 737. There was a lot of vomit in the passenger compartment.

Over time, I've converted my FS9 into a 1950s and 1960s flight simulator with period aircraft, AI and airfields.

If you want to do so, go to: http://www.calclassic.com/

Well Obi,

If your gonna do the 9er, your gonna need Golden wings and Silver wings, 3 separate installs, GW for the old stuff, SW for the cold war and Vanilla for the modern. You do realise you've just opened yourself up a whole new can of worms. If I remember you've got a similar spec to me, should run FS9 maxed out, if not, close. FS9 used to be relaxation for me, a break from endless tweaking from CFS2, now I know how to tweak FS9 to, I needed a new relaxer, just bought FSX and I ain't even gonna try and learn how to mod it bar a few planes, I don't wanna go there. There is some awesome stuff for 9, lot's of it is payware though. I initially got 9 to see how the planes I was converting should work, anims, etc. It did help alot, to know that the bombay opened up with such-and-such a command, but I found myself warming to it over the years, I spend more time in 9 now than CFS2, I know, sacrilidge, I couldn't help it. Rest assured, I will NEVER lose CFS2.

Happy days,
Jamie

PS, just got my TrackIR delivered, now if that worked in CFS2, that would be the mutts. Crying shame.

Thanks for the heads up, OBIO, I just got my order conform from NewEgg for the FS 2004. You just can't go wrong for $10 and free delivery.. don

The only two flight sims on my comp now are FS9 and CFS2. Like Jagd, I've converted FS9 to a 50's era of flight and call it FS 1954, A Half Century of Flight. California Classics is where I got most of the bits to do it with.

BTW, the old CFS non-squadron Merc Air is alive and well in FS, smuggling "items" all over the world.

You sir are dead to us, :bs: a turn coat, and a Benedict Arnold :bs:. When you come to your senses and realize its us you really love, you'll come back crawling on your hands and knees and we will have moved on :bs:. No . . . wait . . . that's not right!

Oh, well . . .

By purchasing FS9, I am actually extending a favor to the CFS2 community....in a way. Now, instead of spending some of my time converting tube liners and general aviation planes to CFS2 so I can enjoy flying them...I will be able to fly them in FS9 and spend the saved time on skins, updates and (hopefully soon) modeling planes for CFS2.

My system specs are: 3 gig P4, 2 gig Ram, 512meg Nvidia GeForce 7600GS (8x AGP), 160gig HD (need to add a second HD soon), duel DVD drives (one is a burner, other is a reader only). Asus P4SD-LA ATX mobo. Need to add a couple more cooling fans to help keep the system cooler..it isn't over heating, but cooler is always better. And may swap in a new power supply with a higher rating just for good measure.

Obi,

pretty much the same, ATI 512mb DDR graphics instead (PCI express though). Couldn't tell you what my Mobo is, used to know, forgotten. 2Gig RAM, one DVD cos I've got 4HD's. One 160GB SATA (C:), one 500GB SATA (F: flight only), two other PATA 160GB for games, music, downloads, etc. I need the space for one FSX, 3 FS9, several CFS2, CFS1, 4 CFS3, and a partridge in a pear tree. FS9 and it's miriade of addons EAT space, your gonna need that second HD without doubt :d

happy flying,
Jamie

PS, one of my fave addon's for FS9 is FS Cargo, it actually gives you something to do in FS9, collect cargo from here, fly it to there, score points for beating the clock. It generates cargo missions randomly, and gives you purpose for your flight instead of just looking at the purty scenery. Payware though.

I am actually just jealous that I don't have the time (or money) to branch out a bit. :redf: There is so many things I want to get into in the flight sim community. Someday . . .
