This might belong in the hardware or tweaks forum, but I figured more people would see it here.
I upgraded my Eset NOD32 to the newest version a few days ago; prior to this upgrade my sim was running buttery smooth using Kosta's vsync guide. After the upgrade I noticed a rhythmic and very intrusive stutter every few seconds. Upon further research, I found the culprit. It seems the newer version of nod32 uses a different algorithm for its updates etc...they have added in a 'gamer mode' which kills off the offending processes while using FSX or other games. BUT...I noticed that there is a checkbox to automatically enter gaming mode when applications are launched full screen; did not work for me...I now go into the nod control panel before starting FSX and manually enable gamer mode. Viola! No more stutter. Just wanted to share in case anyone else encounters this issue using nod32 which is very good av software. I have been using it for years! Cheers
