Force Feed Back

For force feed back sticks is there A way in FSX to make the feed back harder as far as the air over the controls is concerned.

These are the adjustments available in the aircraft.cfg:

[forcefeedback]
gear_bump_nose_magnitude=3000 ; 0 - 10000
gear_bump_nose_direction=18000 ; 0 - 35999 degrees
gear_bump_nose_duration=250000 ; in microseconds
gear_bump_left_magnitude=2700 ; 0 - 10000
gear_bump_left_direction=35500 ; 0 - 35999 degrees
gear_bump_left_duration=250000 ; in microseconds
gear_bump_right_magnitude=2700 ; 0 - 10000
gear_bump_right_direction=00500 ; 0 - 35999 degrees
gear_bump_right_duration=250000 ; in microseconds
ground_bumps_magnitude1=1300 ; 0 - 10000
ground_bumps_angle1=08900 ; 0 - 35999 degrees
ground_bumps_intercept1=3.0
ground_bumps_slope1=0.20
ground_bumps_magnitude2=200 ; 0 - 10000
ground_bumps_angle2=09100 ; 0 - 35999 degrees
ground_bumps_intercept2=1.075
ground_bumps_slope2=0.035
crash_magnitude1=10000 ; 0 - 10000
crash_direction1=01000 ; 0 - 35999 degrees
crash_magnitude2=10000 ; 0 - 10000
crash_direction2=9000 ; 0 - 35999 degrees
crash_period2=75000 ; in microseconds
crash_duration2=2500000 ; in microseconds

Are there for the control surfaces?

David

Pepere,

These parameters only affect the ground, gear bumps, crash, and stall settings.

For the control forces, you need to look in the air file - REC 320. :wink:

The settings are: -

FF Due to Angle Of Attack

FF Due to Elevator Deflection

FF Due to Elevator Trim

FF Due to Elevator Force Level

FF Due to Aileron Deflection

FF Aileron Force Level

All these I believe were decoded by Jerry Beckwith (Sparks on these forums).

Cheers

Oh boy, that looks like fun! I've not edited air files in years......

Bit late into the thread here but FS Force 2 by Dirk's Software (http://www.dirks-software.ca/fs-force/) gives very realistic forces (which increase with speed) and you can easily customise them up to the maximum your stick will produce. You really are missing out on your joystick's full potential if you use the poor effects built in to FSX - FS Force is worth every penny!

Will be trying this out... Thanks

Works good and does improve the Force Feedback by 100% with the ability to customize.

Thanks.

David

Have you checked out the "real" stick trim with FS Force yet? As you trim you can feel the stick moving to the new trimmed datum. Almost worth buying the software just for that!

Yep! the program has brought FF to life. The plus also is when you put the aircraft in autopilot the yoke does not jump around.
