Force Feedback not working when trigger pressed?

I'm loving P3! But I have noticed that when I pull the trigger to fire guns, my MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 stick does not shake like it did in P2. Ideas?

Yep doesn't work at the moment. We will look into it for a future update if possible.

.... was wondering about the same issue. Thanks Pol for the reply.

Pol, no offence mate, but please try to remember this is no longer a free mod and people have paid some quite serious money for it (around the £50 mark here in the UK). "Look into it in a future update if possible" ain't quite setting the right tone, if you know what I mean. The stick needs to shake, as it does in CFS3, and it's quite a feature immersion-wise.

Like I said, no offence meant, just don't want to see a list of bugs sliding into the 'not that important' ether. ;)

Hello

We will and are taking every issue that folks raise quite seriously as we have done in P1 P2 and now P3 - we were as committed then as we are now and vice versa.

And yes we are looking into this issue - what Pol is saying is that we are not committing to any dates but we have been more than timeous on all our patches as I am sure many here will (should?) attest to.

2 weeks maybe - 3 months doubt it.

The other point is that if we get bounced in the forums too often we will eventually just have to keep quiet and patch as we see fit when we see fit - as that is what the majority of software devs do.

We are here daily assisting and supporting and making OFF better - pretty unique I believe.

Thanks Winder, it was just that the response seemed a bit blase and I thought maybe this particular problem wasn't going to get the attention it deserves. A directly tactile sensation for a major function (firing the guns) is pretty high on most peoples list of features that count I think. Suprised it wasn't noticed before release to be honest and personally I won't start a career until it's fixed (I'm anal about stuff like that :icon_lol: ).

No problem - I have added it to the current issues list!:-

To answer you directly:

Virtually no-one in the team/beta test, to my knowledge uses FF sticks.
I use a custom hand made floor based USB stick that mimics a WW1 Camel with WW1 Camel type pedals - 100% full size - as I too am anal and will not fly with a desktop piddly stick FF or no!

Quite right Siggi, bad fast typing so didn't contain enough words..

Anyway we are aware, we are looking at it. Oh and things don't slide anywhere but there are priorities.

Cheers chaps. :)

I tried a cockpit once, built it myself but it became a chore using it for stuff other than flying my sims (couldn't really afford a dedicated PC just for flying).

Suprised nobody on the team uses FFB, it really does provide a whole extra dimension to the simming experience for me. If it's done well of course, which it isn't in CFS3. Have you tweaked or improved it any for OFF? If not I have plenty of good non-FFB sticks in a box somewhere, I'm sure I'll get used to them again. :)

...as a real pilot, the FF is a must.

It is so great to feel the shutter before a stall, the shake when the wheels touch the ground and the smoothness of the plane as they leave it. The pulsating kick shake from firing the guns, just awesome.

It is sad that there is a limit of good FF designed sticks on the market. I feel it is very important in a sim to design in this sense to give feed-back that really connects you and brings you into the sim environment through a physical connection like this.

Be great to have it back in BHaH.

Just my turnbuckles worth.

Cheers,
WF2

Just to clarify it's there for stall etc, just not there for gun firing yet.

Not to rain on your parade BUT, It might be the stick itself.

Have you doublechecked with another game.

That's the reason some of our members, have more than one.

I think Parky has 5, Rip has 4.

It is not the stick

My MSFFB stick works fine with CFS3 but not with Over Flanders Fields. Hope it is fixed soon. I was very happy to see this issue made the list. The developers have done a heck of a job with this sim. I hope the keep at it.
