White, and thanks. ? do you do hangers to? If so take a look at the pics in my post and I figured they are about 600FT by 600Ft and about 80 to 100ft tall from top to bottom with the hanger doors at about 50ft tall.If the tower is all you want to do I thank you so much,we have needed this for along time.

I hope you dont mind the low poly attempt .
We got time to find the 1941 paint job.

From what I read it was a dark color and was just completed before the Pearl Harbor attack.I would say maybe a gray color.

I thought I would do a search for some info and it turned into a vast search trying to find any actual documentation for the color of the tower prior to Dec. 7th. But I persevered and it was painted brown. Dark brown maybe the color of camo brown back then? I also read that in the movie Pearl Harbor there are shots of aircraft doing flybys in an external view of the tower. Anyway this is combined info I found;

"Construction of the 158-foot control tower began in early 1941. At the time of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor the tower structure had been completed along with a portion of the platform on the top. Construction was completed in 1942 and originally was painted a solid dark color. The control tower didn't receive it's familiar red and white paint until 1942. After the Ford Island Naval Air Station was decommissioned in 1962 the control tower was still used for civilian operations at the field.

Plans are in place to restore the control tower and clean up asbestos within the structure which would allow public access. The last time the control tower was painted was for the production of the movie "Tora Tora Tora".

A contentious issue in the history of the island is the aircraft control tower.According to the Integrated Cultural Resource Management Plan for Commander Navy Region Hawaii’i in 2001, the tower is an icon of Ford Island and the entire base and stands like a sentinel keeping watch over its surroundings. It has been promoted as a recognizable symbol of the modern base and serves as a visual land-mark from on and off the island. Ground breaking for the operations building at the base of the tower began on Dec. 1, 1940 and construction continued throughout the following year. By Nov. 3 there were no stairs or elevator to allow for access to the tower and it was painted brown, not the famous candy stripe it has become famous for."
