'Ford To Help Stop Teenage Speeding'

Ha Ha - when I was a teen I could only afford old rustbuckets that were naturaly "limited" 80mph???? only on the back of a tow truck!!! :costumes:

Limiting the car's speed to 80 mph doesn't accomplish much. 60-65 mph would be better, make the kids stay over in the right lane. :icon_lol: What it pretty much boils down to is, if you can't trust your kid to be responsible then don't let him/her drive.

Just make the stereo and airconditioning cut off at or above 55 mph, that'll cure 'em!

Activation of antilock braking, any loss of traction detected by traction control system, or use of 75% or greater throttle should cut off stereo and AC for 30 minutes or more.

80 miles an hour...you got to be chetting me. 55 mph sounds more like it, and while they are at it they need to do something about that damn bass that shakes my mirrors at the stop light:banghead: ,,, talk about " can ya hear me now"

Do what they do in Singapore, have an annoying bell come on past 65

I don't really have an issue with the 80mph speed limit (since most interstates flow about that speed), but it does annoy me to see this kind of stuff being used in place of common sense parenting.

Driving is a privilege, not a right, and it does piss me off to see parents using things like GPS monitors and "smart keys" instead of simply not allowing their kid to drive alone until the parent trusts them to do so.
