My local post office is the subject of ridicule. I had forgotten about President's Day being today, so my morning trip to the mailbox was wasted.

But then I remembered that our post office employees rarely work, even when there isn't a holiday.

My comments aren't about any other USPS location; just the one that handles my mail. Seriously, it needs to be shut down. I rarely ever send mail from there, because the Post Master there sits her fat a.... at her computer, browsing religious websites, or handing personal phone calls....... I am NOT against religion, period! I am just saying maybe work should be her priority? I know, that is a weird concept these days.

Sorry to ramble. Just felt like venting.

i feel your pain, i truly do. as proof, i offer the following statement:

since coming to canada, i have developed a great respect for the U.S.P.S.

My mom was a postmaster way back when, dude file a complaint with the postal inspector.Do that every time you have that problem and be polite but give details and keep it up.Stick to the facts ,at the very least it will make you feel better.:friday:

Don't feel bad, you are not alone with some of their incompetence. I regularly send books to the fellows in theater and have been for awhile. While trying to send some packages the local postmaster could not grasp the USPS definition of " Media Mail" ALOT cheaper than regular mail. I tried to explain it and all I got was that I didn't know the regulations and there was no such thing. I took all the packages home, printed out the USPS regulations, concerning Media mail, and bought them all back. I then informed the Post"Master" to ****!!! ( tip to Tango Romeo there). Needless to say they all go "Media Mail" now with no trouble.
Later though, I was asked did I want to send the packages Airmail as it would take a long time by ground. These were freaking APO addresses and less than 20 miles from the distribution point!!! When I asked how many pidgeons was it goin to take to airmail to the distribution point ,that was at the airport ,all the other customers cracked up laughing!!!!

Well the eye doctor was open. Just got back and still trying to read the computer screen. Any way to turn the brightness down on this monitor? :costumes:

Jmig, does your eye doc dilate your eyes and then put you in a waiting room full of magazines?? :wiggle:

Oh yeah, the wife gave me a CASH check to take to the bank for my allowance and.....yep, closed! And, yes,
two months into our 35 year marriage the checkbook was taken away from me and hasn't been returned. We
both agreed it works better that way.....

Jmig, does your eye doc dilate your eyes and then put you in a waiting room full of magazines?? :wiggle:.....

He dilates them but I stay in the examination room while they are dilating. They used to put some drops in your eyes that undulated them. But two gallons of it at a time must have given rats cancer. They discontinued those drops. Now I have to have my wife drive me back.

Have you guys ever tried to track a package when someone uses USPS...what a joke. Since the internet has come about. it has really put a hurting on the Post Office. BTW...time for another stamp increase.

Chief,

Don't feel too bad, I checked my mail today also, even after I read this thread..............:faint:

Something else I have noticed, is what happens if you order something from Amazon.com when it says "Free Shipping" for an item.

It is shipped by USPS. Which translates to: "Slow boat from China". Seriously, I can easily add a week or longer for anything to arrive, having been shipped through the ever-efficient USPS.

If money was no option, I would ALWAYS use UPS. I can track the shipment, and their customer service is great.

FEDEX, on the other hand, is NOT reliable. But that is a conversation for another day.

Usps tip

NEVER,EVER send something registered mail through the USPS. I had to send something that was time sensitive and made the mistake of sending it " registered mail" through the USPS. It took 2 1/2 weeks to go from NY to Fla. and involved me making some long frantic phonecalls to the recipient. Meanwhile a package sent to Ca., by UPS, was there in three days!

It seems it is registered when they receive it and then must be logged in, and out, at EVERY point and no one keeps track. If the person whose position is to log it is not available, it does not get done. In addition they can only tell you when it was received and delivered not where is it in- between! They don't know!!!!!!!!

Fed-ex, and USPS, lets you track the packages through the whole process so it is easier to locate if it is misdirected.

HeHe, I know what you mean. I used to play in a Softball league, where one team was made up of Canada Post inside workers (the sorters etc.). They were on rotating shifts, and when they had to work the same times as their games, their buddies would clock them in on time..... Canada Post workers are the absolute worst I have ever seen. As a Manager of sorts all of my working life, I have seen some utterly useless employees, but CP gets the gold in them thar Olympics.....
