Fraps..Help please??

Hi Guys,

I have really enjoyed watching some of the great movies you chaps make using Fraps.
Which begs the question.. What am I doing wrong?

Screenshots..not a problem.. But even when I change the resolution and the fps settings.... I get very jerky playback and recording...no sound (even though it's selected) and it's impossible to even fly, let alone shoot accurately....as the lag is similar to playing OFF multiplayer, on a 56k modem with someone on Saturn!!

I am reasonably sure it's me..as the movies I see are superb!...also, about 45 seconds of film is nearly a Gig!!

Any advice for this Hollywood reject...most welcome!
 
I wish I could help you, but I'm no good at computing. Fraps seems to reduce framerate a little, but what you describe, is really bad. Couldn't you choose a reduced size, like half-screen or so? I think, that's what I did (must look in there again).
Sound - I don't get sound either. That's why I underlay music to it.
Hope, someone with more tech sense will help you - I'd like to see you throw curses at the Huns, before they shoot you to pieces (Lol!)

A vid with you against "Jester 12" would be nice!
 
After some experimentation, including changing a config-file per somebody's suggestion on the forum, which I later undid...

With x4 FSAA I had my FPS go to hell.

Zero FSAA I saw no loss of FPS while recording with FRAPS, but game looked a bit rough.

At x16 FSAA I saw no loss of FPS, and game looked superb.

Suck that and see what happens. FSAA plays some sort of role.

The sound issue, is that a limitation of the free version? I can't remember, my version is registered (only $20 and well worth it).
