• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I've started something new and I figure some of the readers here at SOH may be interested. Over the years I have made more than 100.000 digital photos of landscapes, aviation and motor cycle stuff mostly.
I have now started to make some compilations of some of the shots I like best, and display them on my new Windows 7 PC. And I thought, what the heck, I might as well share a few.

Soooo... you can now download the first of a number of Background Packages from my webshop..... for free : http://silvercloud-store.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=29845

Let me know what you think, should you download them. Thanks !

Thank you for those.

Reminds me that I have many 35mm slides from airshows in the 70s, Oshkosh, USAF Museum, and many others that I need to scan before work strokes me out and the family tosses them.

Any thoughts about a central repository for those of us that have taken many detail shots that no one else would have an appreciation for that might be highly useful for modelers in the future?

The problem with such 'repositories' is usually that 'general' web hosts don't allow large quantities of (image) data, even if they all advertise with 'unlimited storage' these days.

Now it so happens that I do have a Photo Storage that claims to be unlimited, so I guess I could add a special category to it and host such pictures there. But only I can upload to it.

In fact, anyone can rent the space, but it is a tad expensive if you only do it for hobby. I'd be willing to consider testing this if there are more people interested ?
