Hey Folks

I have just uploaded a new model on my site, the Ansaldo A-1 Balilla. It's a gift to this great community and my customers, past and present.
Look on the first page of "Freeware" and download away.

I had a problem on my freeware pages where it was asking for a user name and password and I was unaware of it until today. It's all fixed now and I apologize to anyone that ran into that lil problem.

Cheers
Chris

Very generous of you Chris, I shall look forward to investigating this little (unknown to me) beauty! :salute:

The Balilla crashes wonderfully. I don't know how you do it, but you put together planes that are such much fun to slam into trees, dive into mountains, and plow into water. And that is why I have nearly every one of your planes...even the stinky old ones LOL!

Tim I can crash them purdy darn good myself but I have a question; You have a smell-la-monitor? lol

Nope, no smallamonitor....but I know with as many half eaten cans of sardines and smoked oysters I have tossed under the seat while flying your planes....even those little pine tree shape deodorizers don't stand a chance.

-------

The Ansaldo is in the paint shop....upper wings are redone, the fuselage has been clad in some exotic plywood, the VC has been given a more colorful treatment (greens and grays for added depth and dimension). Lower wings will get rewrapped next...then so on and so forth until the entire plane has been touched and tweaked.

Speaking of tweaking....I will be adding more rudder response to my config file....need a bit more control for those hammerhead stalls.

Oh yeah now we're talking! GO MASTER YOBIO! WOOOHOOO!

Late last night, I noticed that the wing ribs did not line up exactly with the points on the wings...so I started the upper wings all over. Have the ribs in place...now I need to redo the cloth shading and high lighting. Then on to the lower wings.

Folks I found a small BooBoo on one of the textures so there is a FIX for it on the freeware page of my site.

The Ansaldo just rolled out of the fabric shop at my Orcas Island aircraft restoration facility. The first wing recloth job did not meet my quality standards, so I had it rolled back into the shop and redone. This time the guys got it right. Took the plane up for a spin to see how she would handle with the modern polymer and resin based wing wrapping and she flew just fine. Still need to tweak the rudder a bit more...still not enough rudder input for my taste. I did find that the old radiator leaked like a sieve, so I called the cute redhead down the Washington coast line who runs a copper shop and she is going to fabricate a new radiator out of thicker polished copper and a custom polished bronze radiator cap to really dress up the A1. Still lots of metal work to do and several coats of varnish to hand apply to the plywood fuselage. Here are some in flight pics taken from the Ryan STM-S2 that we use as a chase plane when test flying slower planes like the A1.
