Freeware B-29 Superfortress...

Hello!

I'm interested in putting together a freeware Superfortress, and I'm aware that the only option is to see the different 'packages' from Tom Kohler.
However, I'm confused as to which specific 'packages' are needed to put one together; there appear to be many, and the Documentation provided doesn't provide a lot of Info. Is there a way to achieve this simply? Not interested in the WOP, Shockwave or Virtavia options since it appears that these are no longer available unless they've been made so as Freeware...

Thanks! :)

Most of the old Alphasim/Virtavia FS2004/FSX birds are now freeware and can be found here: http://www.virtavia.com/Freeware/index.php

A quick search of the Library/Resources here turned up the following files: https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/...ategories][0]=71&c[child_categories]=1&o=date

Back in the days when SOH used to take part in the Flight Sim Round The World Race we all used to have Superfortresses in our hangars in case we needed them for long prop legs. Our favourite was I believe the RB50 version as it flew higher and faster and had a longer range. I have checked my current DL folder and back-up folders and current install of FS2004 but for the life of me I can't find out who did the B-29/RB50 or where we got them from (possibly AVSIM or Flight Sim if not here).

Maybe someone else from the team (Dave 'DD26' or Milton Shupe or Rob 'Srgalahad') can remember who's we used and where from. They are out there somewhere for sure.

For the freeware stuff, you have some basic options:

B-29A- The OG B-29, has the most repaint support.
B-29 Silverplate- Think a B-29 on a diet. LeMay had most of the guns and all of the turrets removed once the Japanese air force got (mostly) destroyed. The weight savings allowed for more fuel. It was this version that dropped Fat Man and Little Boy plus they were also used as weather planes and for photo work.
B-50. The post-war follow on to the B-29. Mostly different piston engines and ducting. Some differences to the cockpit windows if you looked close enough.
