FS 11 and China; Possibly Now Back into Production?

Lionheart

SOH-CM-2014
Hey all,

It may appear that the company 'AVIC' presently trying to purchase Epic Aircraft in Bend Oregon are now seeking to purchase or create FS11. They have been in talks with MS and are now entering Beta testing.

We think that FSXI might well be in the works, and in a place you might not expect it from ….. maybe !

In the wake of recent developments in Bend, Oregon, where the Chinese state-owned AVIC I is trying to buy the remnants of Epic Air (most likely to acquire their advanced carbon fiber technology), it has now been brought to our attention that AVIC is apparently also working on a new flight simulator.
Rumours have it that representatives of AVIC have been spotted in Redmond late last year and contacts we have in Nanning, China, recently reported that there have been calls for Chinese beta testers for a ‘Flight Simulator’ . (We did some nackground research and found THIS on the web about AVIC. There are also links to one of the many Chinese aircraft manufacturers (ACAC) that seem to be involved in the recent developments).

As has been made public a while back already China is rapidly building an aviation ‘presence’ now that it has been decided that General Aviation will not only be allowed but in fact aggressively pushed by the Central Government from 2011 onwards.

Our resources mention that use of ‘flight simulator on PC’ will be part of the education program. Stay tuned for more news….

Imagine that?

Well, I'm not really looking forward to more crappy products from China. Are we becomming completely blind to what's going on ?

Explanations can be found at the Quartermoon Saloon -

My goodness. A link there that is to a webpage news release that tells more about AVIC states that they employ 250,000 people....!

Goodness.. Thats 1/4 of a million people...

Well, I think they 'might' be able to at least get FS back rolling 'and' perhaps they will make it to run smoothly, which was my main concern.

It would be nice also if they allowed a factory of the Epic to exist and run in Bend Oregon so some people there could have jobs. That would be pretty nice.

250,000 jobs... Goodness..

I do not think to much good comes from "free market" socialism... I tell you what it is very difficult to find anything made in the USA anymore. Granted I don't blame companies for leaving with the unions and such, but this isn't the correct forum (no pun intended) for that type of discussion... I have to say I at least agree with Lion on the fact that maybe this will kick start an interest in FS again for the main stream. Aviation over the years has kind of lost it's luster for most people, and now it is just a fact of everyday life. No one remembers that it was barely 100 years ago that man took his first flight (and lived to tell the tale). How far we have come since.

Well put Steve,

Perhaps seeing GA taking off in China will also help pull America (through example) back into GA again as well. Presently, its as though Congress is working against GA, trying to strangle it by creating charges and 'tense' rules.

I wonder how much LEAD we'll find in the new fsxi? :bump:

that was funny, i don't care what anyone says. :icon_lol:

seriously though, i remain skeptical. when i can load the discs into my computer without instantly downloading a slew of trojans i'll believe it. up here we have a place called "pacific mall"
it's a mall made of up exclusively of chinese shops (except for mcdonal'ds)
you can buy your fake louis v there, you can buy all the crappy bootleg dvd's you want, as long as you don't mind that they were filmed with someones phone, 45 seconds at a time and poorly patched together without any sound. you can also buy all the fake ipods and stuff you could ever want. but the minute you plug one in to your computer you are immediately infected. same with any other electronic device you buy there. picture frames, whatever.
