I'm curious to see what surprises this package contains! Thanks Nigel its really a stunning model and I think this is my favourite package.

Based on some earlier comments here, it at least seems the model which I have nearly always flown.........

Cheers,
Huub

With the 621, Trainers & Tutors released so far... we have 2.4GB of arguably the very best of FS2004 freeware!
Well done to Nigel & the team..

Patiently awaiting the rest of them, & many thanks for adding the SAAF. :wiggle:

Part Two???

After hours of difficulty accessing the downloads page and the forum, I finally got the FS9 Tutor downloaded, only to read in the documentation that I Must have both Part 1 and Part 2.

I don't know if I have Part 1 or Part 2, but there's only the one FS9 Tutor on the download list.

Is it only the FSX port-over that comes in two parts? I definitely have the FS9 version and the documentation says I need two parts.

I wonder how many hours or days it will be before I can get back into the forum to see if there's been an answer to this question. It appears that our new hosting service is not getting the job done.

EDIT: I think I found the answer, since my Tutor seems complete from the one zip file. Gotta say I'm surprised that I got back into the forum with only minimal difficulty this time. I hope that's a good sign!

Mick, the second part is texture files for the additional aircraft . If you try to get those they will probably show black. Both parts needed for FS9 & FSX portover. FSX texture files are in .dds, .bmp for FS9.

Hi Mick,

Both FS 2004 and FSX AVRO Tutor packages were uploaded in 2 parts due to large sizes.

This appears to be the culprit of the most unfortunate server issues we have all been experiencing since yesterday. Thankfully Rami kindly stepped in and has been heavy lifting with a Software installer solution in order to reduce both download size and subsequent related issues.

Re: AVRO Tutor, the aircraft folder should contain 12 texture liveries. If not, I'm afraid you only have the first part containing 5. I understand Rami is condensing the 2 parts into 1 entire package.

Sorry for any inconvenience, Mick. :encouragement:

Thanks Mate,

Now it all makes sense, and I have the complete Tutor.

Am I having deja vu, or did we just get the 621 and 621 trainers a little while ago?

Of course I had to boot up the new Tutor in the sim, and even still, a year or so after the beta versions, I still smile and chuckle when I look a them. My cat thinks I'm losing it.

Just got into the forums without trouble twice in a row. That's a promising sign!

Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that Rami has very kindly packaged the original 2 part downloads as 1 complete installer pack.

!!!PLEASE NOTE!!!
Whilst the installer is set up to install the complete aircraft to FS 2004, we would strongly recommend directing the installer to a TEMPORARY folder then manually placing the '_AVRO Tutor' folder into the Aircraft directory of your sim.

Have FUN!

Nigel

Well Nigel, I can hardly think about a better compliment. The popularity of your Tutor nearly got the SOH down :biggrin-new:
If you ever wondered whether the people would like your AVRO, well here is the answer :encouragement:

Thank you very much Sir!
Huub

And there is still more to expect............

That PWS-18 is a strong flyer, IMO. Still, very easily flown tho. Nice pic, Huub!

Nigel has indeed created a magnificent series of biplanes. Pretty much the long and short of it.:applause::applause:

I feel awful about the inconvenience I have caused though.

You're a gem, Tom - I have a sneaking feeling the Polish gal's your regular date :wiggle:

Thanks Rami

We all owe Rami a big THANK YOU for his efforts in overcoming the issues caused (apparently) by the new web host's inability to handle our traffic.

A big thanks for doing it, and a bigger one for doing it so promptly in the face of such personal inconvenience.

Mick and Blackbird,

Aw....geee, thanks, guys! But DD 26 and PRB, two of the other admins, also had a big hand in sorting this out. My big thing was making the downloads more streamlined and introducing Nigel to ClickTeam.

It's one of the few times I've actually had to sweat around here...:costumed-smiley-034

Considering the fun us testers have been having...

... there is no doubt in my mind this is going to break ALL records!!

A joy to look at, both from outside, and from the VC (I never fly in the 2d pit anymore.. ), sounds like they should.. and OMG.. the flying!!!

My favorites are the 'close cowled' (no cowl ring) early 621's with those tall skinny mainwheels.. and of course.. the floatplanes.

Welcome to the AVRO club lads...
