FS2004; Fresh Install

I finished the other day doing a fresh install for FS9. I don't have but a few aircraft installed, and the only addition (scenery related) is FS Global 2010.

I'm hearing a problem with the engine sounds. Where the volume is fluctuating. And it's not related to one particular plane, but all of them.
...This has happened in the past several times and I never figured it out. I just got use to it and lived with it.

Not sure if this is sound card related (drivers) maybe?

Also; This only happens while flying FS9

Any thoughts what could be causing this?

SC = Soundblaster Audigy 2

You may want to update your sound card driver...that fixed an issue I had with my sound quality. I was getting an odd popping sound, updated the sound drivers and all was well.

Or, it could be Rocking Chair Syndrome. Seeing as how you are getting close to the big Five Oh, you are most likely sitting in a rocking chair...like all old people are known to do. As you rock, your head (and ears) move back and forth. When your head is closer to the speakers, the volume will appear to be louder and when your head is further from the speakers, the volume will appear to be lower. Stop rocking, and you will find that the sound volume is constant.

I have that, the Doc calls it doppleritis!

LOL....oh OBIO. That is what my wife calls (in my case) A.D.D.
...I call it selective hearing. HA!!

I just updated the drivers to the most recent. It never did a thing for the issue.
..Then I got out the original install disc and put them in. Believe it or not, that fixed it.

All is good. I can put granny's hearing aide back in the drawer

My next advice was going to be to try some of the older drivers...as sometimes the newest drivers are not the best for working with FS9. If I update my video card driver to the latest version, my sim looks worse and performs worse than it does with the driver that is 3 or 4 updates out of date.
