Hello all

Here is a interesting repaint I made, maybe a lot of you folks don't know about Bophuthatswana so here is the time to do some learning...:wiggle:

This is a repaint of the Bophuthatswana Defence Force Pilatus PC-7 painted in its delivery camo scheme of Dark Earth, Olive Drab top surfaces and Light Admirality Grey Undersurfaes. This same colour scheme was used intermediately experimentally by the SAAF on their Mirage F1AZ during the bushwar. The Boputhatswana Defence Force purchased three (T-400, T-410, T420) PC-7's in 1989 and it was delivered in January 1990. In 1992 the Leopard Aerobatic Team was formed using the BAF PC-7's and they participated at numerious local airshows around South Africa. By March 1993 Boputhatswana collapsed and it was all over. The SAAF acquired the three PC-7 training aircraft when the aircraft of the Boputhatswana Defence Force were incorporated into the SAAF in 1994. The Bophuthatswana Defence Force aircraft did not received SAAF serials prior to being sold.

A Search at http://www.flightsim.com or http://www.avsim.com must be done to obtain the freeware "PC-7 " or "pc7_pak.zip" from Tim Piglet Conrad.

I have also added many screenshots of the repaint so you can get a good perspective of how it looks and the using the repaint was made with the paintkit by Tim Piglet Conrads.

I have uploaded the repaint at http://www.flightsim.com so be sure to check it out! Make a search for either SAAF or Pieters, if the repaints do not show yet it maybe due to the servers not showing them yet.

I have included a few screenshots below to show you how it looks...

My friend, long time no post from you. Good to see you are still with us:jump:
Thank your for the kind words, really appreciate it!

Thank you Morras. I only recently began to fly Piglet's PC-7. I've had some of his other planes for a long time. Don't know why it took me so long to seek out the PC-7. Its a nice easy flying plane for cross country trips or aerobatics. Good in the high country too -- Colorado Rockies -- my home base out of Grand Junction (KGJT).

This repaint will be great for some of my African adventures!

Thanks again!

Thank you sir. I really appreciate the kind words and its nice to repaint something that people will enjoy!:jump:
I must agree with you Piglet's PC-7 is a very nice aircraft to fly and also looks really awesome!

Oh. . . ok, so there really is/was a "Bophuthatswana Defense Force". . .

Sorry, at first I thought it was a joke - you know, like the "Mau Mau Navy", or something -

Very sharp looking re-paints, though !

Thank you for the kind words sir, i really appreciate it.

No problem at all. Haha most people my age in my country don't even know any history or even what or where Bophuthatswana was so it is more then understandable... I can think it might even be though of as a joke:cool:

I also had never heard of "the place whose name I can not even type let alone pronounce"...so I had to do a Google search and do some reading on it.

I also love Piglet's PC-7 and will have to grab this skin and do some more South African flying....my Modern FS install gets me to do more world-wide flying and the PC-7 is a nice sedate flier for looking at scenery that I will never see in real life.

Was wondering is there a fix or patch for the flight-model of this bird? The original release had (to my mind) unrealistic flightmodel, very high pitch with flaps etc.

Any pointers?
