FS2004/FSX SAAF 44 Sqn DC-4 Skymaster, #6902 - SAAF Museum AFB Swartkop

Hello there again guys

I have painted yet another SAAF aircraft on email request to fill the virtual skies, I hope you are not tired yet of SAAF repaints hehe....

I have made a repaint for the the Douglas DC-4 & C-54 model by Jens B. Kristensen in the colours of a SAAF DC-4 Skymaster, #6902 - SAAF Museum AFB Swartkop of 44 Sqn. During the border war the SAAF DC-4 Skymaster was painted in a camo scheme comprised of dark earth and olive drab without any national insignia.While in SAAF service the Skymaster was widely used as a passenger and VIP transport aircraft. Skymaster #6902 can be seen at the SAAF Museum at AFB Swartkop in the Border War Camo scheme with national insignia as a static display.

The textures has some dirt and weathering on it to simulate use of the aircraft. I have painted and uploaded also another SAAF DC-4 Skymaster #6904 - Border War (No national insignia worn) of 44 Sqn but just have not shown the screenshots here.

A search at http://www.flightsim.com or http://www.avsim.com must be done for the file dc4_v21.zip to obtain the freeware DC-4 Skymaster from Jens B. Kristensen.

I have uploaded the repaint at http://www.flightsim.com so be sure to check it out!

I have included a few screenshots below to show you how it looks...

Hi there,

This is a livery I hoped would come up some time. Looks really great! Thanks very much.

Cheers,
Maarten

Great work there Morras.
Downloading them now.
She looks great in the bush war camo scheme as well and is significant as possibly one of the last uses of the C-54 in a combat theatre.
Thanks very much.:applause::applause::applause:
