Hello there folks
I have been busy for a while now hehe doing some repaints of Mirages. :mixedsmi:
This repaint is of a SAAF F1AZ #218 of 1 Sqn with the nose cone and tail planes painted matt white meaning they simulated the 'enemy' aircraft during ACM camps. At the final ACM camp in Durban during 8-21 August 1992 of 1 Sqn the Cheetahs also attended and at least two AZs earned the nickname CheetahEater with #218 being one of them. The Ground crew painted on the white nose of #218 the words CheetahEater on one side and Howzit! on the other in black. The Springbok inside the Castle roundel was also heavy oversprayed making it almost look like its gone. For more realistic air-air combat training the number of 'bogeys' were increased from 1 on 1, to two or even three. In order to distinguish the larger number of bogeys, the nose cone and tail planes were painted matt White. All information regarding this paint is accurate and have been varified using the 1 Sqn Lines books.
I have uploaded my new repaints to http://www.flightsim.com. The freeware "Gmax F1v2.5" and "F1V25patch" from Kirk Olsson should already be in your infantry.
Here is a few screenshots of the repaints:
Mirage cold with covers
Mirage wingover flyby
Mirage turn pulling "G's" showing belly
Mirage turn pulling "G's"
Mirage Dogfight ACM with a Cheetah 1
Mirage Dogfight ACM with a Cheetah 1
Mirage on the tail of the Cheetah
Landing after a successful Dogfight ACM sortie
And as always I hope you like the repaints and enjoy it! Please feel free to leave any comments and so forth.
Blessings and happy flying!!!!!!
