The Air Barons Flight Demo Team was originally established in 1967 as VF-725. In July 1970, as part of a NavAir reorganization, VA-209 was established at NAS Glenview, Chicago, Illinois, using assets from VA-5Y1 and VA-8, and also received their A-4L aircraft at that time.
