FS2004 Lockheed L-1049H Super Constellation. The L1049H was a convertible passenger/cargo version of the Super Constellation. Included in the package are four models representing aircraft with and without radar noses and tip tanks. Model, VC, and texture basics by Manfred Jahn, panels, gauges, and animations by Hansjoerg Naegele, flight dynamics by Luis Pallas, wing view angles by Bill Tyne and Andreas Trapp, lights and exhaust effects by Roland Berger, checklist and documentation by Volker Boehme, flight test and handling research by Stefan Werner. The 1049 project is hosted by Tom Gibson's Calclassic forum.

Now we have the cargo variant, thanks to Manfred & his team ...

The 649/749 is still waiting in the wings....right now Manfred is finishing up the visuals on the different military versions of the 1049 and then we need to make sure they fly right.

After that only the boss knows if there is going to be a Speed-Pack....:wiggle:

Stefan

thanks Stefan .. the 749 with radar nose is my favorite and a speedpak would be the "cherry on top"..!!! :icon_lol: while awaiting delivery of the short connies..i sure am enjoying the 1049s/1249/1649s..!!!! thanks for your part..!!

Hi T,

your welcome....all I have to do is fly the airplanes along a flight test envelope. Then find people that have flown the real thing and sit down and talk to them to see if what we have is close or not to what they recall.

So a few airport hamburgers in company of some high time fliers with the occasional trip around the patch in their current planes in exchange for a ride in my Saratoga...yeah it's a tough assignment but someone has to do it. :applause:

Poor Luis is the one that has to crunch the numbers that make the whole thing actually work the way the rest of the team thinks it should work.

I have had a blast with this project thanks to a great team that works well with each other and has a common goal of making the best FS rendition of the greatest or at least one of the greatest airplanes ever to fly.

Cheers
Stefan

FS2004 Ten L1049H Repaints. Ten repaints of Manfred Jahn and crew's Lockheed L1049H Super Constellation. For these schemes to appear you must first install the Lockheed L1049 "Super G" Constellation -- L1049G_U.ZIP. Then you need to download and install L1049H.ZIP. By Dave McQueen.

Calclassics is on a roll. Just visited the site to see what the progress on the Constellations was. Noticed the DC-6's all got new VC's and the Convair's are about to get their VC upgraded. The outside models were already great with many good paintjobs available but I did fly them much because of the crude VC's. Now the DC-6 finally has an interior that does it justice and the Convair VC looks promising.

Hi Guys,

we discovered a small issue with our birds when encountering icing conditions in flight. Apparently I had installed the valve for the de-icing boots incorrectly :173go1:
Tom Gibson at CalClassic inspected the airframes and found the problem.
The fix can be downloaded here for both the G and H models:

Paul simply click on the L-1049 G an H airfiles zip in the pages that comes up and it should open a new window and somewhere in the top left it says click here to start download.

Or try this link if the first does not work for you.

Hi, Stefan!

Please let me add just this:
This mission is accomplished!
Thank you so much! :applause:

Regards,
Markus.

Thank You very much Markus...I will certainly let Manfred and the rest of the gang know. But we're not done yet.
Luis has just finished crunching the numbers for the Radome equipped versions to make sure they fly right.

Hi Guys,

me again....looks like the ICE fix wasn't quite complete yet. It did work for some reason on light ice but not when moderate or severe icing was selected by either ASV or the built in WX module.

So a little more massaging was required...thanks to more helpful tips at CC it now does work ....but it sheds all the ice as soon as the switch is on.
Not quite as realistic but better than the alternative.

I have also made the same changes to the L-1649A Starliner.
