FS9 RAZBAM Banshee panel and effects tweak package is up

Retired SOH Admin
I just uploaded the comprehensive panel and effects tweak package for the payware Razbam Banshees. This covers all variants (-2, -2N, -2P, -3 and -4). All 2D and VC gauges have been put into proper position (more or less...some are a tad off...but much better arrangement than stock), some non-working switches have been replaced with working switches from the stock C208, lighting has been revamped (aircraft.cfgs for Shockwave and for non-Shockwave users) and improved effects package.

You really need to read the READ ME file really well, maybe even a couple times...as there is some work you need to do BEFORE installing the revamped panel and aircraft config files.

I hope that these tweaks and enhancements increases your enjoyment of the Razbam Banshee packages.

The package is in the FS2004 OTHER section of the library.

I added wing tip vortex contrail thingies to the effects on the Banshees. For those who don't like them/feel that they are not realistic to a plane with wing tip tanks, you can kill the effect by commenting out (putting a // in front of) lights 8 and 9 in the aircraft.cfg file of each plane you want to remove the effect from.

Obio,

Just installed the pack. Nicely written readme file! It made installation a snap.

Speaking of the Iris effects from their freeware jets, were you not working on an update to their F5 Freedom fighter at one time?

IRIS F-5? No...not working on that one. I did a major restoration of the FSD T-38 package though....it's in the library.

At some point, I will be doing some work on the panels of my favorite IRIS freeware jets. Some of the panels and VCs just seem so washed out and blah.....gray panel, gray gauges.....I want to either repaint the gauge faces to a nice black or swap out the gauges for some nice black gauges. Darken the gray on the panels a bit....just make the panels and VCs not so uninteresting.

Just changed everything over IAW your instructions - these things are flying smoother, and working smoother, than a newborn's backside. Thanks for the hard and detailed work OBIO:applause:

If anyone wants an awesome panel/vc upgrade for the IRIS F-5 go here:

This panel and vc pack really brings the F-5 up to date, the vc panel takes on a nice 3d look and and the gauges are very authentic looking. It even has functioning radar.

Thanks for that tip Pfflyers. I'll check it out once I finish this up.

Obio,

FSD ... Do'oh. I knew it was one of the Northrop derivatives.

A bit offtopic:

Be careful with this because it installs dsd_AI_DATA1.dll (needed for radar) in your modules folder, it will hit your performance even if you do not fly tiger, so better put this file in some other backup folder. Same goes for dsd_xml_tcas.dll

Tim, just want to confirm, this doesn't address the flaps issue/general performance does it; that is a separate update that you sent to Ron?

Andy

Correct...this package does not address the flap issue...just the panels and effects. The airfile tweaks can be downloaded from the Banshee forum on the Razbamsims.com forum. Under the support heading I think.

Hey, OBIO!

I finally found the time and got around to installing the Banshee tweaks. Great job, I might add. Thanks for your efforts.

I did come across a little, minor, itsy bitsy glitch. In the aircraft.cfg [lights] section for the expansion pack I do believe that light.9 should be a 7 and not a 3. I came across that when doing a test flight and noticed I had a single contrail from the port side.

I wonder if a Banshee ever visted Duxford? :salute:

Cheers
