It is a sexy little hotrod!

As memory serves (I used to work for a Beechcraft dealer) this is an older airplane. I think the newer V-tails have another window.

"Newer" in this case being a relative term, I guess.

These shots look better than the previous ones.
 
Yeah because these shots use AA - I wish more developers would use AA - shots look horrid without it on.
 
Looks like FSD did a fine job on this. However, I haven't got squat for bucks until June, so I will just have to drool. However, FSD kudos guys. This is a HOT one that is very much needed for FSX

OK beautiful but what is it?

Going back to 1947 V-tails had another small window. This was supposed to be a V35B built in the '70s. I am looking for a photo of the prototype and haven't seen one with this window arrangement. So what model or variation is this representing? The last window was an option?

It looks really cool without another window and I like it. I like the reflective texture too. Looks highly polished like it's made of glass. A little too polished maybe?

I want one and can't wait to fly it!!
 
Those little windows could be found as an addon kit as well , like the tip tanks , this plane represents an early model that was updated in the 70's , the heritage version shown in the pic is their demo dating from 1947 and recently completely restored.
The first 168 of them left the factory with this painjob

From the details that are publicly available there are a couple of confusing bits that may well get explained better in the docs when released:

  • the visual model is indeed a B35 with after-market tip tanks
  • the specs are a bit off - the B35 had the listed E185-8 (165HP) engine but FSD shows it as 205 HP so I assume that was part of the "70's upgrade" that also cost the owner the $$ for the extra fuel tanks.
  • The panel is also a later model (it would be nice to have an optional "original" panel with the piano-key switches but I won't fuss.)
  • the V35B designation didn't come until 1970 (2nd upgrade to the V35) so that's going to confuse people into wondering why it's not an IO-520 powered 285HP 'monster' http://www.ask.com/wiki/Beechcraft_Bonanza
Hopefully the model is as sweet to fly as the real plane - the earlier versions were a bit less demanding than the big-engine late models.

As for the rear window... the small 'wedge' window came in with the F35 in 1955 and was available as a retrofit to earlier versions. The large (teardrop) window was introduced much later in the 1961 N35 - also can be retrofitted.

As a Bonanza lover, I'll be happy just to have a nice model!

My first airplane ride

My Uncle, Leo Wells, flew F86s in Korea and right after that he took my family for a ride in his Bonanza. Had to be '54 or '55 and I remember that brand new blue and white Vtail very fondly. Pure magic that has stayed with me all the years. There were no tip tanks on it and I cannot remember the windows but doesn't matter, I want a great model of one or as many models as are made for FSX. Line'em up I 'll take'em all.

There are tons of painters around here that will probably be willing to make it as you remember it once you've purchased the FSD Bonanza.
 
Looks like a great add on. I have been looking at some photos and it seems the v angle on the tail is a shallow. Like the v is a little to open. It is probably just my imaginations.

But maybe that's only an optical illusion :)

exactly those were the very pictures I was comparing. I found the real world photo in the wiki link provided earlier in this thread.
 
I used the drawing here to determine that angle and with this result , it looks fine to me in sim and in max so i think i will stick with it ,
back to wrapping up the beta testing and enjoying some flight time ,

I think it is an optical illusion because the screenshot version is banking to the right, making the right tail sit more flat. I literally just measured the angle on screen with drafting tools.
