FSD O-2A question.....

Any of you folks still fly FSD's Cessna O-2A for FS9? I remember that there was a "night version" repaint featured on their website a while back. After some extensive searches, I can't seem to find it, and was just wondering if someone knew where to look.

Thanks....:guinness:

You just have to dig around the FSD site a little, it isn't obvious where things are...
Too right...I love stumbling on threads like this, just collected a couple of repaints for my FSD Porter!
Thanks for the link.

Finding the repaint is the easy bit.The repaint just does not recognise the path required to install the repaint, so i can't use the repaint. Why don't they do the easy bit and jut upload it as a zip file on their site?

Regards Paul Day.

Well I found the repaint, but when I try to run the installer from FSD for it, it says that it cannot find a current license for the O-2A. That's a bit funny as I have the FSD O-2A installed, and have been dive bombing kangaroos in Queensland with it for about 4 months now. Well, not really dive bombing roos, but I have the plane. I reckon I'll just join their forum and see if I can find out what's going on.

Thanks --

I never could get the installers for the extra O2A paints to work here.

Last time I did a rebuild of FS9, I just installed the civilian 337s and left the O2A out of it. I mostly fly the 337H anyway.

I actually have been flying the O-2A for a few years.... extensively on my older 'puter before it crashed back in February. I just recently re-installed it on the new one. I don't see why FSD can't just post it on their website as a standard 'zip', you have to have a licensed copy of the plane in order to use it.

They have always been an excessively paranoid company, got a bad name for it a few years back. I have a few of their products, bought some years back; the O-2A was my last purchase, and I will not be making another - as much as I like the look of the v2 Porter, I can't be bothered with the hassle.

To give them credit, the FSD Cessna 337 is my favorite GA. I originally bought the download version and liked it so much that I bought the CD version so I could reinstall without any hassles.

BB, let us know how you get along with FSD's forum. As for the rest, let's not turn this into yet another FSD bashing fest that ends up having to be flushed like so many before...

I am waiting for a reply from the support forum at FSD. I have to admit that I am kinda bad that way.... sometimes I'll join a forum either to get some answers to questions, or just because they have a really sweet product, then over time I kinda forget about them. The only forum I have ever stuck with for any length of time is this one, and Australian Simulation. Sadly, me thinks "Aussim" is no more tho.
As for FSD, I only have the O-2A, not for any particular reason other than I like the plane. In the past, I have never had a problem with FSD and I'm sure it will all be resolved.

I have a bunch of repaints for the FSD O-2A, from the regular sites. Some from Bruce M. Johnson, Sean Doran, Dominique Klein, Vincent Mellinger, and others. Just search for O-2A. Two of Bruce's are night black.

I never could get the O-2a's nor the C-17's (that came with the T-38 FS9 pack) from FSD to install, either. Others would install just fine. Never got an answer back from them at any time when I asked about the texture installs failing. Any other problems were fixed right away.

Biggest problem was having to redownload the packages, (I have them all, except the Porter,) every once in awhile, because the installers were constantly changed, updated, and the old installer would not be recognized.
Will probably have to do it again next time I move them around in the sim.

Thanks for the H/U Modelr... I went over to Avsim and grabbed both the black O-2A paints by Bruce M. Johnson. I hadn't had a chance to head back over to FSD but these 2 paints, along with the camo paint by Vincent Mellinger will keep me occupied with the O-2A for a while.

To FSD's credit, their "Load Manager" utility makes life easy when adding repaint skins. :medals:
