FSHost Client Question

I have posted this over in the FSHost forum, but seeing as how the previous threads are 2 yrs old. . . .I'm not sure it will even be seen by the right people. . .so I'll ask here as well. I was flying in MP yesterday and was unable to see the other persons aircraft (we were both flying the same airplane. . .he in Ver1.4 and me in Ver2.0). Anyway, I highlited his name in the chatbox and selected to "change players aircraft". Only problem was, no aircraft showed up in the selection window. I have mostly default P3D aircraft right now, but I also have a few FSX portovers (which we were flying). Nothing was visible though, not the default airplanes and not the portovers. Does anyone have any idea why that would be the case? I have a registered version of FSUIPC installed.

P3d v2.1

Hi falcon409.

I have the same problem. I also posted the question at
Chocolate Software Forum, and there has been no reply. The problem has to do with registry key error. Unfortunately I don't know how to fix the problem.

Doh. . . .Kenny, I see that all the time when I load FSHost Client. . .and until this second, never made the connection, lol. I have seen your post about this and I'm surprised that no one has answered. . .at least to either say they're looking into it. . .or that it's not something they can fix. No one is so busy that they can't take a few minutes to post a short answer.

Thanks Pat, but this is related to the post by Kenny (above). I get this, (and apparently others do too) every time I log into FSHost Client and it apparently has to do with FSHost being unable to resolve the registry key for the location of the "Simobjects Folder". . .and more obviously, it's inability to handle the registry information for P3D. The problem has been posted on the FSHost Forums for a long time and no one has bothered to look into it.

No worries mate. Thought it might help.

EDIT: Found this on the LM Forums http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewforum&f=27.0 the 6th thread was started by Kenny. The whole sub forum may be of some help as well.

EDIT #2: You may also find something here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Martin_Prepar3D
Thanks Pat. I think it comes down to a Chocolate Software problem. It seems odd to me that when you load FSHost Client it is able to find the Prepar3D V2 folder and program, but then unable to find the SimObject folder to locate the aircraft. Makes no sense to me.

UPDATE: I've posted a request that this be looked into and corrected (if possible) in the Chocolate Software Forums (in three different areas). I looked for Kenny's post, but now I don't see it anymore. Dave had given me a link to it during the RTWR I think and I saw it posted. . . .for some reason I no longer see it in there.

Howdy Everyone.

falcon409, my post at is still there http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/fshost/ Maybe Russell is just tired, he's been at this for a long time.
Kenny I looked at the posts under each forum and I didn't find it. Most posts in the various forums are from 2013. . .with a few exceptions of course, but I found very few that are from 2014 and yours was not one of them. Also, I can understand the gentleman being tired, but a simple reply doesn't take much time. . ."we'll look into it but I can't give you a timeline. . .sorry but that's a P3D problem with coding. . .Sorry but I don't have the resources to investigate that at this time". . .that didn't take me 30 secs to write.

We are at least able to use the client to connect to MP sessions and not being able to change a players airplane isn't a game-changer, but it's still a problem that needs to be looked into.

Not sure if I missed something but this is what I have. I had P3D V2 running at YSCH when I started FSHostClient.

Here is an update.

Well, apparently they didn't like my posts in the Chocolate Software forums (I placed the same question in three different forums) concerning this problem. . . .they've all be removed, lol. I guess it wasn't something they felt they needed to address.

I made a new post, just in case it was an accident that they were all deleted, lol.
