Beat me to it! I am sooooo glad they are doing this one. Now we'll have the 707 AND 727 there to go with all the rest of the Boeing line. The pax version will be released down the road. Yep, I'll need that one too!

Great to have this jet - hopefully released before the final real world jets are retired. That said I think the last Kalitta bird has been withdrawn now.

Depending on the source, the r/w count is under 50 still flying globally. Not many from the original batch!

Don BP;)

Memories.

My last commercial flight, as a passenger: Las Vegas to Jackson, Mississippi on a Delta 757, switched to a Delta 727 to Birmingham .... 27 years ago!

Good preview from British AvGeek
Apparently available only from Aerosoft initially then Contrail a week later.
Aerosoft always expensive for UK buyers so I'll wait...

My very FIRST commercial flight was aboard a Braniff (remember them?) 727 from Salt Lake City, UT to San Antonio, TX to see my new nephew. That was clear back in 1980. They gave me a little Styrofoam 727 glider toy in the Braniff colors which I kept until a few years ago when I gave it to that nephew's son.

I'll definitely be picking this one up and looking forward to the PAX version, so I can recreate my flight.

My whacky 727 story..... :)

Several years back I had a job to do in Acapulco. When it was time to leave our flight out was on a 727, but I don't recall which airlines. Our aircraft wasn't parked in front of the terminal and was off a distance. While sitting there, I could hear one engine after another spool up, but after a few moments, one of them spooled back down. Then a few moments later it would spool back up and then spool back down again. This went on for about 15-20 minutes. Finally, the cockpit announced that the #3 engine wouldn't start and that they had a crew coming out to start the engine by hand. That started some passengers talking nervously. After a few moments I saw a pickup truck coming across the ramp with a bunch of guys in the back with an extension ladder. That was both comical and horrifying. They shut the other two running engines down so the guys could get up there and "hand start" the 3rd engine. After all three were back up and running, we took off and by then there was one extremely vocal girl sitting towards the rear that pretty much never stopped screaming that we were going to crash. That got so bad that the flight attendants couldn't calm her down and her travel partner got up and moved to a seat away from her. Needless to say, when we finally landed back in Florida there was a lot of passengers applauding that we made it.

Impressive ! VERY Impressive !! :

Watching the other video above i wasn't that much impressed with the 727 VC, i thought it looked a bit bland, not much like i remember from the CS 727 in FS9/FSX that IMHO looked beautiful and felt very immersive. This video however shows a much different picture, particularly when the PIC turns on the fluorescent lights ! Wow! Looks like the system simulation has climbed to a much higher level compared to the CS 727 as well ! Can't wait for this one, Seems like the perfect follow up of the amazing PMDG DC-6 ! :encouragement:
