FSUIPC help needed

Members +
ok...i have only a few 4 engined AC,and a potload of twins,i want to set FSUIPC up to have a more or less generic twin engined setup, but id like to have my 4 engined planes to have all four engines run separately,
i have all CH Products for my "cockpit" eclipse yoke, rudder peddles, and two throttle quads.

so would i start by programming the generic twin setups, then going back in and setting up the 4 engined planes one at the time?....or start with the 4 engines and then do the twin generic?

then i intend to buy a panel that has gear, and lights ect...will i have to reprogram my entire setups?

FSUIPC already has a generic single and twin you will simply need to add a generic 4 engined one,

Simsamurai FSUIPC setup info here pdf.

I have been using FSUIPC with multiple engine and aircraft profiles for a few years now, and this is what I have done:

Based on your info, I asume you have a registered version of FSUIPC.

First of all, open the fsuipc.ini file in notepad and make sure that "useprofiles=yes".

Then go ahead and create your general button assignments.

Now load a twin engine aircraft and create a profile for it (I have two generic one's, one called TwoEngineProp, and the other one is TwoEngineJet).
Create your axis assignments and calibrate them.
Now you can add any aircraft to that specific profile.

Now you can load a 4 engine aircraft and create a separate profile for it. (again, I have FourEngineProp and FourEngineJet).
Once that Prifile is created you can add any aircraft to it's matching profile.

The initial creation of the profiles takes a bit of time, but once you have them set up, all becomes so easy.

To be slightly more complex, I created a separate profile for my DC-3 aircraft, because the button assignments and axis responses are a bit different then for example a Duke or Baron.
instead of creating that profile all the way from scratch, I opened the FSUIPC.ini file with notepad, copied the TwoEngineProp sections and pasted it at the end of the file. I then changed the profile name to Douglas DC-3 for each section, and saved the file.
Started FSX, loaded a DC-3, asigned it to the profile Douglas DC-3, and made the changes I wanted to make my axis responses and button assignments more suitable for that type of aircraft.

The above is in a nutshell, but I hope you get the idea.

Oh, and regarding adding a switch panel: you would have to assign functions to those switches. You can keep the same assignments to your excisting switches, or re-assign them to other functions. At least you don't have to re-create the profiles all over again.

Happy flying,
