FSUIPC question/reminder

well, now that i have a real reason to get fired up about flying and not just playing with FSX files,i installed the new version of FSUIPC ,im assuming im going to have to re-calibrate and set my controller up,i have no problems doing any of it except for one thing...

when it comes to mapping,or setting the settings for the throttles,i use the CH products throttle quad in twin engine mode, can i make a "generic" or "default" map that will work with all my aircraft..be it a single engine or twin?...even if the twin has a turboprop with "beta" reverse"...

Can i just go into FSX,,open FSUIPC..select my aerosoft DHC-6 Twin otter, setup the throttles, prop, and mixture, save it..and just use that for all aircraft?......

Yes, but why would you? You are throwing away the whole reason for FSUIPC in the first place. Customize the control setup for specific aircraft or type of aircraft. In my setup, there are 3 Saitek quads and a Warthog. Military props setup with mixture, prop, flaps on the left. Civil GA those controls are on the right. I try to get the layout to coincide with the VC of each aircraft. I can even plug in the yoke and use it. Once a profile for an aicraft is set you don't need to open FSUIPC again. FSUIPC makes all the changes for you when you change planes.

The flexibility pretty much will allow you to set up anything you wish. Experimentation is the key to it all. Quite fun really.

well yes to your last line....and over time (say a couple months for all the planes i have) i can "map" them all individually, but just to get back up in the air,i wanted to be sure i could just have a "default" setup for the short run.

If you don't name the first profile it becomes the general profile so to speak. Then those settings are applied to all aircraft until you make changes and give it a name. Maybe a bit understated but that's the idea.
