FSX Accel SDK

I'm working on an airport scenery project, and found I couldn't compile the project - it turns out BGL Comp is in the SDK, which I never installed.

So, after installing the FSX Accel SDK, I still get the BGL Comp error (Cannot find BGL Comp.exe). I've verified that BLG Comp is indeed present.

Thoughts?

EDIT - Found where I need to map ADE to BGL Comp's location.

What's the third box in the folder tab for: Shp2Vec?

thanks!

dl

Make sure that ADE is setup to find the folder containing BGL Comp. If it is not setup it will give the error your getting.

To quote FSDeveloper: "Shp2Vec.exe is a tool provided in the FSX SDK to convert data from the common GIS 'Shapefile' format into the Bgl format used by Flight Simulator." In other words if you are creating polygons with ADE then ADE will need to know the location of this file.

The Shp2Vec.exe can be found in the Terrain SDK folder (which is located in the Environment Kit folder if my memory is correct).

Creating polygons??? I can barely place the ones that are already out there ... lol!

Thanks - I did a test, and ascertained that I can indeed place both generic and aftermarket scenery objects - so life is good for now.

cheers,

dl
