FSX & Acceleration Install questions

A friend of mine is going to install FSX & Acceleration. It's been forever since I installed FSX, so am trying to provide help for him. He has internet, but only with his phone tethered to his PC.

Anyway, so if I have the process correct, he should:

Install FSX, then SP1, then SDK. Run FSX for a short flight at least. Shut down.

Install Acceleration, then SDK from Acceleration?

Pete, does he have FSX GOLD boxed or are these separate installs. The reason I ask is I just installed FSX yesterday on my new PC and I have Gold boxed and the SP1 and SP2 updates are included with Acceleration on my version.

Duckie's right: no need to install either SP's as they are part of Acceleration.

Thanks all. Much appreciate your help! Once he gets FSX and Acceleration installed and working, I am trying to explain to him how to install SDK. But I need to make sure which version of FSX he has, because I understand that does make a difference. I will report back on his progress. Thanks again. NC

P.S. I hope to get him to join SOH too! He retired from Grumman maintenance.

I recently had to reinstall after obtaining Win 10 when my Win 7 got scrambled. The main problem was when installing Acceleration to my FSX Deluxe. I ran into the.....8405 error and couldn't validate the installation. Venturing into the Registry cured that. I am finding Win 10 challenging after using Win 7, still that's Microsoft.
