It is a native FSX-A model and will only work in FSX-A. It has all of the original textures from the FS2004 version along with a new texture commemorating the 185th Aero Squadron.

The 185th was the only specialized night fighting squadron attached to the 1st Pursuit Group in 1918 which used Boulton and Paul built Camels instead of SPAD XIIIs. They were known as the "Bats" and was based at Rembercourt, France along with the 94th Aero. "Black 12" survived to the end of the conflict and was painted white after the armistice.

Wow, while I'm not a fan of that era's aircraft, it was great of you to take this on and update the models. I know there are a lot who will appreciate your efforts, well done.:salute:

Fantastic !
Now, with a native Camel, FSX is finally a real Flight Simulator (c) :ernae:
(sorry I started with FS5, so to me, no Camel, no FS :D )

The download is not visible yet in the library.
Funny thing is, the British Aircrafts section tells about a new entry, with 4 entries in total, and when you get there, you can only see 3 Spitfire...

Thanks very much for this:ernae: Fs9 repaints work fine and the screenshots show Bob Rivera's photoreal Camel. Frames are great!

Excellent! :ernae:

It's on the "New Files" page (second one down when I looked just) and I've grabbed it, but won't get chance to fly it until later.

Thanks!

allthough to be more precise .. its an expansion with SP2 and a few extra bits included :engel016:

Acceleration includes SP2, so no, it isn't. However Accel also includes a lot of new and unique code which SP2 doesn't. Just as examples, in order to use Anti-detonation injection, multi engine helicopter flight models, winch and sling lines or the carrier launch equipment on some naval aircraft, you will need Acceleration installed.

maybe we'll see the Eckert Stearman made native someday for FSX...?

I like the Camel, don't take it the wrong way... but I have a nice one in Rise of Flight that scratches that itch nicely

Looks great! Good companion (perhaps I should say enemy) for the Neoqb Triplane which is also available with a Banana Bob repaint

Thanks for your efforts Radioman, very nice. Already created a "Shared" texture folder and saved all files as DXT5.

Camel Redo Comments

Thanks. I always felt that a Camel needed to be in the latest version of MS FS. This was a short project to learn modeling techniques in FSX-A. Conversions are never easy as all animations had to be redone -- some from scratch. I had calculated a 2 week job but it took about 6 weeks with all of the testing.

One of the goals was to be backward compatible with FS9 textures and have good frame rates.

I am working on by B-26B-10 and hope to have that out in the early fall. That is a much longer term job and has turned out to be very complex.

Attached are some pictures of that. It is about 90% done.
