FSX Accelleration Question/ Gauges on Disc

Hey guys,

Is it possible to get the gauges from the FSX Accelleration disc and load them into FSX?

Problem: I wish to fly Tims new Shuttle, but I do not wish to have Accelleration on my computer. (Bad luck with it in the past). So I would like to know if anyone has loaded just the F18 gauges before out of the CD without loading all of Accelleration?

:monkies:

Hey Bill..As far as I know you can't get items off the Acceleration disk and also FSX disks.

You could however do that in FS9...

Bill, it wouldn't matter if you could simply extract the gauges...

...since they include new features that exist only in the Acceleration version of the fsx.exe and other support files/modules.

Bill do you have another computer and another copy of FSX at all??

Just the HUD gauges are Accell, I believe. If so, you can simply swap out the HUD gauges for a HUD d/l'd from somewhere.

Have no fear you can do it.

The Gauge is in the Product.cab as Krazy said.

It is file name Gauges_F18.dll

Simply extract it from the cab file, locate it to your gauges folder and rename it to F-18.dll

The hud will work in SP2 but none of the other Acceleration gauges will work ie tail hook, and launch bar from F-18 in Acceleration.

You don't care about that anyway to fly Nicks shuttle challenge.

Honestly I have FSX SP2 installed but I never activated it because I loaded it on W7 Beta release just to see how it works. I imported all of the F-18 files and she flies nice in SP2 but of course carrier ops are out of the question with out the working tail hook.

I also imported the EH101 helicopter and she looks good but the gauges to start it are not there so no joy.

It was hours of work to figure this out so I expect to see screen shots from your Flight. :icon_lol:
